You do realise "living out of a box" is a general term for being destitute? I'm not just talking about his homes (plural), his standard of living is still well and above everyone else.
Sure, he's not as wealthy as he made out, we all know this. But he lives better than most Americans.
The catch is repairing a Google phone, even running a custom OS like GrapheneOS, doesn't circumvent the lowest levels of their insidious tentacles that extract your information. They feel comfortable in letting you think you're taking control.
Not that most other manufacturers are any better. Maybe a couple are, but they're the ones that are still being sidelined, one way or another.

Yeah I opened in a new window and zoomed out, thought it was "who" in the middle. Then I viewed it on the comments page and saw the thumbnail and went "oh, it's 'The Stones Will Cry Out'".
