iPhones aren't exactly known for durability...
Most Motorola and Samsung batteries are completely removable but there's something in the way to prevent it - glue, a sticker, a couple of screws. I doubt removing those measures will reduce the durability of the phones.
This was a good article, US centric, but interesting. Would have been better if it didn't start with a picture of a happy looking dog and a seizure of $100k cash which the author can't even explain. The law says you have to prove you didn't get the money illegally, if I had $100k in my suitcase I think I would be able to explain how I got it.

It has massive stability options and the support from the devs is poor, one of them openly said that if users can't fix their broken systems they shouldn't update them.
Say no.
If you give them your raw files then they will essentially own your image and use it for whatever they want, edited how they want.
Provide Jpeg only, and with a maximum width of 2048px which is suitable for all social media.
Say you take these pictures for free, and a rider becomes famous, or dies, or in twenty years there's an exhibition on the history of the sport - you want to be the person in control of those images.
Don't forget this is a community built around Open Source software with many refugees who came because proprietary apps were forced on them.
