i feel like this just keeps happening in the open source space, people go "Oh this is bloat, get rid of the bloat" and ardently insist that actually it's better to use a bare TTY, despite that just.. obviously being hilariously dumb?

that's not how the big bang works, the whole thing about the big bang is that it was a singularity containing all of space in a single point.
The standard analog is to take a small balloon with dots painted on it, then inflating it. The surface of the balloon is spacetime, and as it shows there is no origin, everything just gets more distant from everything else.

"but Stephen, there are no fixed points in space. Space is relative, meaning you can only define positions relative to other things. You demand the fundamentally physically impossible of me, Stephen."

i love that bluesky just keeps getting away with it like this
"oh well they said people can run their own instances, so that must be true!"
nope, you just can't run a bluesky instance, can we please recognize this fact and stop giving the massive corporation the benefit of the doubt?

at this point i wholly despise joanne for making "magic = latin" the cultural default, for this precise reason
can't even read genuine actual historically used latin without part of my brain going "haha weird hogwarts spell haha"

i mean we already have murder hornets, and bees are generally on our side on the war against hornets, so i'll take monster bees.
