i will never understand what people hope to accomplish with these licenses, when even the fucking GPL isn't particularly reliable.

a license is only useful if it can actually be enforced and people are willing to interact with it, if a license isn't robustly worded and thought out or it's simply not backed by a trusted group, it's basically entirely pointless.

I maintain that the GPL is the best license purely because it has the FSF behind it and it has been used since time immemorial, it's one of few open source licenses that has seen repeated stress testing in courts and stood up to it.

handwritten mail in general makes no fucking sense, why would you handwrite me something if i don't personally know you? hell, the only handwritten thing that feels sensible to recieve these days is a postcard from a vacation or a christmas card.

And lots of housing can be built in a small amount of space, it's called "apartments".
Instead of sprawling across the countryside, dense housing can be built in already urban areas, replacing existing inefficient landuse like parking lots and single family homes.

Not only is this just a better way of using the land, it brings many other benefits like shorter travels and less money spent on infrastructure, and of course making sure that green space is preserved means people don't get fucking turbodepressed.

i'm not sure i've ever seen a boneappletea that makes any sort of sense, it all reads like the shit i interpreted english lyrics as when i was 10 and hadn't quite figured out english yet

you very clearly imply that more housing construction is going to help alleviate the issue, which in this context is being accomplished by simply ignoring greenspace requirements.

if you literally just wanted to drop that statement, what was the point of doing so? you generally state things to make a point..

i'm just waiting for someone to merge all of them into one city-builder where each species has different mechanics, but live in the same world a-la civilization, with some species being able to physically live in the same space as others if it makes sense (like rats would just outright have this as their main mechanic)

[–] Swedneck@discuss.tchncs.de 3 points 4 months ago

how's that relevant? he's already rich, he doesn't need more money

[–] Swedneck@discuss.tchncs.de 4 points 4 months ago (1 children)

i really wish someone could explain it to me in a way that makes sense, because the concept just seems like complete magic to me
