You only need to add the month if it's not the current month. The same with the year.

When does saying the month first ever help when you're speaking? The month doesn't change for like 30 days. The only thing that matters is dd which changes daily. If someone asks me what the date I'll give them the day date and nothing else.
I don't need to say it's the 9th and watch them panic that maybe it's January.

No but the default clock on any computer when you select your location as United Kingdom is 24h. To use 12h you'd have to go into settings and change that yourself. I too am English.
Get a DE Razor. You can buy a 100 pack of blades for the price of 4 cartridge type blades. Plus they give a way better shave! They aren't as forgiving as the cartridge type though so you'll need to take your time until you get the knack of a DE razor.
