There are good parts to the defense, but the overall problem is the same as the offense. No adjustments.
The team is too compartmentalized and has no overall leadership. Flus may not be a bad DC, but he needs someone to tell him soft zone is a bad idea against certain teams. There’s no accountability since he’s both the coach and DC.
Fire the coaches and extend JJ. Anything less and I’m calling for him to be fired by the end of the season too.
Neither will happen.
There is one way out, and it’s a complete fire sale. Sell the team, fire the GM, fire the coaches, fire the president, trade as many players as possible no matter who they are and start completely fresh next year.
Poles should not be safe, there is more to being a GM than finding players. There is no sense of team, no unity, the way he runs things, even the best player on this team can be cut tomorrow.
Players don’t feel like they’re part of something, they feel like meaningless stats and numbers.
Plus the way he’s tied himself to the worst coach in Bears history is grounds enough for termination.
