This kinda isn't in the same genre as normal racing. But Lonely Mountain Downhill is a game where you're mountain biking and trying to go faster and faster to beat certain goals or personal records. It's adorable and fun

I guess they'll die

Not exactly 10+ times for... Probably any of these. But enough times that I'm certain I'd still discover more on another rewatch

  • Airplane!
  • Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas
  • Longlegs

Happy early birthday.

I'm sorta of the same as the others that 30 itself wasn't really anything. But the year or two of being 30 that I've had under my belt have been great. My 20s were a lot of figuring life out and now in my 30s, I've settled in my career, settled in my routine, and have the freedom and funds to do a lot of fun things.

It's honestly been great and I can very much recommend it. Just take care of your body!

Judgemental horse

Recently out of a long term relationship, and I am maybe almost ready to try again.

But my best friend and I have been getting a lot lot closer and have had a few chats about maybe considering letting a little bit of romance into our relationship. It's something we're both being very cautious about, but to be honest, I'm hopeful that it'll happen. They're the best person I've ever known.

Embrace the rot Let pestilence bloom

Ruthie Foster has some music that might be what you're looking for

Otherwise, I suggest poking around Bluegrass. Supposedly bluegrass sort of split off from gospel like an evolutionary branch, so there are a lot of heavier influences in bluegrass like what you're talking about. Though I assume that most of what you'll find is probably going to be sort of white people quiet church music, but I know for sure there's a fair amount of good time stomp and clap.

My conservative parents flew in/out of SeaTac in Seattle and gasp the absolute mind boggling grossness they had to endure by knowing there was a non-gendered restroom in the airport???

If I rolled my eyes any harder, I'd have to put out some missing posters for they'd have rolled away.

Yeah!!! I love characters with things that play into how they act.

I'm really interested in the ghost - does the party see her as well? Does she mess with your character? Hahaha

And I love hiding that she's a ~~fucken furry~~ kitsune. Little tidbits like that - that don't have to be some grand reason - make me love characters more. Like fuck yes your wizard's familiar is an inch worm that no one ever notices just because an inch worm once crawled out of a spell book you were learning from and you laughed so hard, you snorted your health potion.

It's immersive. And I love it. Cute!

I don't feel like it was that long ago, but I guess it was.

I started on 3.5/PF1 and played a loose few games on those. Once 5e came out, we switched over and had a ton of fun with it.

Inevitably I started DMing for 5e. I just... I'm not gifted in the least with Game Design, so I struggled really hard once my players hit 8th level. I couldn't build a strong enough encounter to challenge them without having to flub so much on my end. It became a source of frustration and I was often harried. Unfortunately big life events ended that campaign. I've tried to start up a few more as a DM, but I feel like I've lost that little je ne sais quoi that made me a good DM.

After my third DnD campaign crashed and burned, I started looking into PF2e, joined a game, and then another, and another and another. Lol.

Right now we're going through Fists of the Ruby Phoenix and having so so much fun.

I absolutely adore a lot of what 2e is about, but I do have some things I'm starting to notice grate at me after having been starry eyed for a few years, now. Still, it's incredibly fun.

I've played, in 2e,

  • a Champion (before the remaster, and I really wasn't a fan. I think it's better now),
  • a pirate Drunken Monk (so much fun),
  • a ruffian rogue (unfortunately the campaign just wasn't our favorite, but I was starting to make that build an absolute monster)
  • a witch (I had never played a caster prior to this)
  • an earth+water Kineticist (so. Much. Fun.)

Monks are my favorite class and have been forever, but the kineticist is making leaps and bounds to be my #2. It might also bee that we're level 13, so she can do a lot, but still. Fun fun fun.

The kineticist herself is an oread (earth genasi, basically), who was born in a village that was blessed with earth magic, but cursed at the same time by a wicked Dao. Her and her people have little spots of their skin that turns to stone, but it grows and grows and grows to eventually immobilize and kill them. She, herself, has a fair few patches that she's hiding from the party because she's a fucking idiot (lovingly). But yeah! She's very stoic and this is very out of my usual play zone, I typically make jokesters or shit-stirrers with loud attitudes. But being stoic and calm and just ready to silently sacrifice herself for her team is difficult - though a lot of fun.

... Sorry for the rant. I love talking about these things ahaha

They're brothers but they don't cuddle or get close often. This is my only window hammock, so sometimes they fight over it, or the one on the right will just shove himself into position.

The left one got too hot, I think, and had to move.

I wasn't sure where else to really ask, so I guess let me know if this is a no go here.

But hey, I'm playing through Animal Well and I am stuck. I don't want to look up guides or any spoilers, but I was hoping for a hint maybe.

Spoilers ahead for those who haven't played.

spoilerI have gotten 3 totems lit and all I need now is the wolf one, but I don't know how to get into the room with the last flame. There is a room that needs a circular disc, but I can't use the frisbee or anything else I have right now.

I also have 8/9 candles lit based on the spawn area grid? I'm missing the center one, but I also don't have a match right now, nor do I know where that candle is.

So, uh, hopefully that's enough info. Any hints without being too direct?

I just finished my first ever Lego set, the insect (+botanicals) collection and I absolutely love them and want more. Lego itself doesn't seem to have anything more in terms of the insects and my pitiable googling only results in articles, videos, and reddit threads about the same box.

Is there somewhere to find people's personal builds with parts lists and instructions?

I've been driving the first car I ever bought for almost 15 years now. I love love love that car, but it's time for an upgrade, so yippee!

Before it gets asked and I forget to reply, Mazda 2 -> hybrid Honda Civic hatchback

I have a horizontal gliding window that opens to my patio and I wanted to put a cat door in it so these little buggers can get out. I looked at buying one, but wow they're expensive.

My thoughts are to build a frame out of 1x1"s and have plexiglass in between it with one of those door flaps you can buy to install into it.

Would that work? Be sufficient enough? The window is never in the sun and not exposed to a lot of elements at all, so I don't think I need to go over the top.

And before anyone gets up in arms, the patio is netted in and the cats can't escape. They're not free roam, just allowed to be outside in their controlled area.

Hey all

After the one UI update for android, the basic weather widget doesn't center anymore and it looks god awful.

Does anyone use a different app for their weather that has a good (centered) widget? Or does anyone have any recommendations?

I've been a little hesitant on completely going to the graphene (I think?) os, where you can customize everything (I think?), but maybe it's time?

Hiya Lemmy, I'm stuck on a dilemma.

I have a nice PC but I don't like being stuck at a desk all day and would like to game from my couch without having to lug the tower back and forth. It's a whole thing and that bitch is heavy.

So I have some options.

A) getting a looong HDMI cable to somehow run from my PC to the TV.

  • this is the cheapest option, for sure. But my controller doesn't pair well with my PC for whatever reason, so that doesn't really help a whole lot. I do have a looong usbC cable, but it's not my favorite option. Especially with cats.

B) build or buy a micro ATX. Something with tiny(relatively) form factor that doesn't need to be anywhere near top of the line to play what I usually play. So I could probably build something decent for 1200 USD? Maybe 1500. Or buy a pre built and save some heartache.

  • it's the most expensive option, but it will last me forever and it'll be a portable PC basically. Just not as portable as a steam deck.

C) buy a steam deck. I don't need the OLED or anything. I don't usually travel with gaming things, so I'm not worried about all that.

  • middle price option. While portability isn't a huge concern, it could really come in handy. I really liked steam OS and the ability to just boot as a PC. I could see myself using an emulator to play some older games. But my biggest concern with the steam deck is that the other one I borrowed from a friend couldn't really play rocket league. It just didn't have the juice to run the game? And I'm pretty sure I turned down all the graphics and everything.

Anyhow. This is a long post of thoughts. Anyone been in this situation? What did you choose? How are you feeling about your choice?

Mind, I've had many tattoos, but this is the first big one on my forearm and woof my elbow is rejecting this world.

It's been almost a week since getting it, healing is coming along nicely, but the inner side of my elbow joint is just in crazy pain, especially as my palm faces upwards. Bending is near impossible.

I haven't done anything with that arm that would otherwise make that kind of pain - like picking up bricks or whatever. So unless I slept wrong for the past three days, my guess is that it's coming from the tattoo somehow.

For example, I'm terrified of smelling bad

I've seen some that can potentially be fit into a recessed light, but I'd have to do some research to figure out how to know if the cans are attached to studs. Beyond that, I can't seem to find anything. Anyone have ideas or tips?

Or other permanent body things.

A while back I asked what kinds of shoes might work for me and there was a lot of discussion about barefoot shoes. Well, I found a small local sports store that physically sells Lems and I went to try some on.

Wow. These are the best and most comfortable shoes I've ever worn. I got them about a month ago at this point and I have probably put 2-7 miles on them every day and according to my Fitbit, that's nearing 100 miles and they're still the most comfortable shoes ever.

So thanks, community! I'm super happy I asked !
