Ah I see, IRV is still majoritarian meaning that a minority of votes still doesn't get represented.

I don’t want my refrigerator connected to the internet

Yep

Try to buy a tv that isn’t a fucking smart tv, you just fucking can’t anymore.

This is what I'm on about, resisting is a loser's game, even if you try it gets too hard :-(

what’s getting thrown at the wall.

Ah, well noticed. Yeah I guess a lot of the smart toasters etc is just the industry throwing stuff at the wall to see what sticks. You just reminded me how quickly 3D TVs disappeared after appearing.

Our lives do not need to be curated and polished into some technicolor madness.

Tell that to society 😩

But yes, we are definitely on the same page.

I guess that makes sense. Also, what sets the solar panels aside is that they don't intrude into your modus operandi, like eg. always-on employer expectations (possible thanks to the internet) might.

Maybe it's aggravated by the fact that I do programming and the industry standard libraries constantly keep evolving each year. You're stuck perpetually playing catch-up.

Only in Russia can you die from falling out of the window in a bungalow.

Da hab ich immer Vorteil weil ich keine Sozialangst habe.

Hi, I have a community on lemmy.ml where I have a bot that reposts stuff from Reddit. It got banned though because it turns out reddit reposts aren't allowed on there. Does sopuli have a similar rule or could I migrate my Reddit repost community to here?

Thanks!

Hi, I have a bot that I use to mirror posts from one of my favourite Reddit communities onto Lemmy (!2visegrad4you@lemmy.ml), since there are not enough active users on lemmy for the community to be self-sufficient just yet. Still, it seems it was popular as the reposts were getting upvotes.

My bot got banned from lemmy.ml 3 days ago so I just wanted to ask why. Is there a rule against Reddit reposters (and where)? Is this a lemmy.ml policy or a Lemmy-wide policy?

Thanks

Sometimes when I stay up late doing something creative I end up getting this very comforting feeling about the future. A sort of certainty that everything will work out in the end and that ~~luck~~ happy coincidences will always be on my side. If I had this sort of confidence throughout the day, I would live a much more pleasant and relaxed life. Since it makes me forget about all the hurdles I am grappling with in life, it makes excited about the future once again (like I was in my early teens before all the new responsibilities started weighing on me), and makes me want to go out there and live life to the fullest.

Does anyone else experience this feeling as well? It's always gone by the morning but if I could internalize it it could be life changing. Do you have any idea how?

Sorry for the geek post...

They still have considerable value and power, especially with their mining operations in Africa. Do we know who was second-in-command, or is there going to be a power struggle?
