Just tired. Like every month I'm scrambling for rent, usually because of bills and rent that haven't been fully covered by my roommate. She's changing that but I'm still short for rent slightly this month and still stressing the almighty fuck out.

"It gets better" is probably the most heinous lie I've ever heard in my life.

It might.

What were your thoughts?

Don't ask mine. They pissed me off in the first 10 minutes and I stopped paying attention entirely.

He also suggested that the Netherlands welcomes and tolerates “terrorism” while a “Jewish minister from Israel is unwelcome”.

Israel is a Nazi state. You're the terrorist. Fuck off.

Figured I'd throw down one of these for those who may want to dive into some discussion!

Please don't let Stamets flame me

I mean.... Alternate opinions don't bug me. I'm not an admin of Startrek.website. I'm not gonna have a screaming meltdown because you don't like a show I like. The people who bug me are the people who speak unilaterally as if they're the be-all and end-all. Like the "Discovery isn't real Star Trek" shit gets an instant block from me. Otherwise I don't really care. Might block people who are extremely irritating about their opinion but that requires like... constant bitchiness and being rude to people who do like the show over the course of multiple threads.

For the record?

It's the greatest since TNG. Including Lower Decks.

I'd agree. Just because I like Discovery, and that it means a lot to me with the queer representation, doesn't mean that I think it's the best thing ever made. I think it gets a lot of unfair shit, much like TNG/DS9/VOY/ENT did back when they were released, but there are also legitimate complaints. Discovery has its problems. I mean the final season was so bad I almost changed my username on Lemmy...

There's nothing in the modlog about this post being removed. If it's gone then it seems to be because the user deleted it.

You're now just being argumentative and facetious. You're taking what I'm saying out of context, outright ignoring certain parts and forcing it to fit your own narrative. You're disingenuous.

Nothing can come from this and I don't have the energy for it. Goodbye.

True. But 'Militant Vegetarian' isn't exactly a term known by most people. Moreover, this is a meme on a meme community. No one is taking the title seriously.

I'd say forgive me for using it but frankly I don't care.

(but then Jews don’t answer for the acts of Israel?)

Followers of a specific faith are not the same as citizens of a country.

And honestly I'm not bothering to read the risk of this garbage either. If Russia wants to stop being accused of crimes then Russia should stop committing the crimes.

Okay, no one’s forcing you.

... This entire comment chain was literally because someone said "The DM should know all their players stats". I'm making the argument that is nonsensical, as well as your addition. That is all. I never said that anyone was forcing me either. Kind of a weird thing to say, to be honest.

I’m saying that if the DC is beyond the ability of a particular character, tell them that they have no chance of success, even on a crit, so rolling is pointless.

And remove a chance for roleplay or funnyness from my players? Yeah, no thanks. I've seen plenty of hilarious moments, and been part of some myself, from people failing to do a thing because they just simply couldn't. Besides, a character might still want to do it anyway regardless of whether or not they succeed. Then there are the people like myself who abhor that because it breaks immersion for me to have a DM say "You can't do this, don't even try". I'm not missing the point. I just hate the idea of a DM blatantly telling me "You are not good enough to do this thing" when the entire concept is fantasy and being able to try that I dismissed it as an option. I should have said it leaves you with three options, the third being blatantly telling a player that they will be incapable of succeeding.

I stand by everything I said.
