Love the analogy :-)

An image I can’t get out of my head!!

Just wondering how people read ebooks.

Do you have a dedicated Ereader device such as a kindle or Kobo, or do you use an ebook reader app on your phone?

I have Kobo Clara BW but I find my phone is more convenient. I do the majority of my reading on my iPhone using the Kobo app.

However if I’m flying out on a long train journey, I tend to bring my Kobo, mainly because of the much better battery life and bigger screen (with better reading ergonomics).

But thanks for this list - gives me a few alternatives I can try :-)

Just started today, Player of Games by Iain M. Banks.

I’ve read the entire series, and decided to re-read. Just completed Consider Phlebus yesterday and it was as good as the first time I read it.

This is good to know!

Signed up and paid for Deezer but it doesn’t work with my vpn (Mullvad) so I cancelled.

Now I’m in a similar situation as others in this thread - looking for a non-US music streaming, other than Spotify :-)

Wow, I had to look that one up. Had never heard of it.

This looks promising. I’m in Ireland - we’re always the last to get these (too small a country!)

One to keep an eye on - thanks for that.

I wish Europe had its own payment system (that’s widely accepted). There are a few, but tend to be only at a national level.

I haven’t but now that I know, I’ll definitely check it out - thanks

Just recently subscribed. But looking around the various threads, I have to say this community is a wealth of information about books I should be reading.

Nice. Thank you everyone.

Oh that would be sooooo good!!

Exactly my feelings.

Ebooks are so convenient but I buy paper or hardback for historical and biographies (they usually contain maps, diagrams and pictures which are more easily referenced and viewed in real life).
