Yeah it’s just proven time and time again that these types don’t know what censorship is. They’re probably thinking about old time censor bars and blurring in TV (does that happen anymore?), this game seems pretty fast paced so I don’t understand why these panty shots matter so much when you barely see them anyway. I don’t think it’s censorship when the creators do it themselves…

This is true and I agree, it just kind of sucks that the people who are annoyed and pissed off are the ones seemingly being amplified on social media and the news.
I guess the media just seems to be pushing the idea that people are annoyed. When they are trending on twitter the biggest tweets I saw were of people complaining with thousands of likes to go along with it. It’s probably an algorithm thing but I guess I still worry.
Their message is fine and I understand why they carry out certain stunts, it’s obviously to get eyes on the issue, but it seems the general public does not understand these tactics and just get angry.
At some point I worry that the public will turn against stopping oil and go into full support just to stick it to the people they find annoying.
“Oil may be destructive but you’re annoying so I’m gonna double down my support for the corporations just to fuck with you.”
Here’s an article I found:
Research explores how youth are excluded from public spaces, design practices
There is an article on JSTOR as well but I know that’s not accessible to everyone.
On your last point about adults sneering at children because all they do is play video games and huddle themselves inside; this is patently false and wouldn’t be nearly as prevalent if cities/towns were built for humans rather than vehicles.
Kids and teenagers seldom have an outside public area to hang out in due to them being very inaccessible and worse, needing money to even be there. Loitering laws and prioritizing adults and personal vehicles over the person has created a generation left in limbo.
I’m an adult but cannot drive so getting around and just hanging out is difficult enough for me, let alone a child. I mean, the amount of fear I have crossing the street when there is no stop light is immense, sometimes just existing is seen as an inconvenience.
Some people may criticize your comment as being doomer-ish, and I understand that sentiment, but I also know that in certain countries, like my own, it really is going to take something catastrophic to push people into fighting for meaningful changes.
I mean, I live in Canada which means people here are incredibly dismissive and complacent (except Indigenous communities) which is going to require something BIG to wake the masses.
I feel like I’m still in the middle phase but heading towards going back down. Some things I can’t engage with neutrally as I’m too irritated to just brush past the cognitive dissonance, but with others I follow the mantra “yes, I understand the frustration but lets all take a deep breath and realize you don’t actually care about that” and its made scrolling social media and talking with people a lot easier.
Copyright laws have ruined so much shit. Does anyone else know about certain people and companies copyrighting (trademarking?) specific colours to prevent others from using them? There’s vanta black, Tiffany blue, I think Barbie pink as well, and let’s not forget about literal fruit such as the pink pineapple being illegal to grow yourself. Now potatoes? This has gotten out of hand, it’s been out of hand.
He’s not a Soviet but I believe this still applies:
I feel like they’ve become extremely explicit with their contempt for the working class this past year alone, outright stating their motivations and plans and yet so many still either turn a blind eye, refuse reality, or comply with the capitalists. It’s gotta be due to generations of propaganda because looking back the people weren’t nearly as obedient and patriotic.
For my family, they see how we are treated but have the attitude of “that’s just how it is” and when I argue against that they get mad at me.
