Alright, so probably not for me, as the only upper body wear I like is plain red t-shirts, which come pretty cheap anyways.
If someone wants to talk to me via email or text, sure. I don't think those basic services are universally losing privacy any time soon. Lemmy too now, since it's decentralized.
But if someone wants to talk to me via a Discord subsitute, I'm not going to bother. Maybe I'm weird, but I don't feel a moral impetus to download a new app just so I can talk to one particular person in the format they prefer. They don't have to move to Discord to appease me either, because text and email are suitable substitutes that I'm sure both parties arleady have.
That's my secret, Cap. Neither is mine.
I guess I should clarify that I don't care about my own internet privacy all that much. Obviously there should be ways to be private if you need to, but I'm not going to bother with them.
The fantastic consequences of images in comments.
I'd rather a service be funded by ads, because if not, they'll have to find some other way to make money, which could include:
- Paywalling - I won't use it then.
- Selling your personal information egregiously - I don't mind when a company has the information I give them, but if they're relying on selling it as their primary income, it's probably going to lead to something shady.
- Cryptocurrency mining - I don't want my computer to heat up while I'm trying to watch YouTube videos, as I often do that to let my computer cool down between games.
Agreed. The former sounds like "How's it coming?" and the latter sounds like "What's taking so long?"
How much do they cost?
Tip: Just like on old Reddit, you have to use two spaces after a line to get a proper line break.

There's not much of a risk of getting sick by your own germs, relatively speaking. I think the primary reason for washing your hands after using the restroom is that it's gross and you want to get it off your hands before having contact with others. That, and you ought to wash your hands for health reasons at some point anyways, so you might as well do it then. So I guess unless you're going to be touching your belt much throughout the day, it should be fine.
Just don't touch anyone else's belt.
