Well, 4k is a great technology for gaming and cinema, highly recommended if you have the space.

So you don't have a 4k blu-ray player? Consoles still make sense for many people, despite the obvious market issues we have today.

Good point. In my case the problem is too many email accounts to manage, Addy is good for that; I could also use more Thunderbird but Tuta doesn't like it, Proton and other corpo provider do not deserve another user.

Yeah good point, in my case it was mastodon.social

Just donate to PeerTube

I think the more interest it raises, the more donations we can expect for developers and instances.

What does peertube solve ultimately?

Once full featured, basically everything.

This version allows you to connect to an existing PeerTube account

Finally! 👍

Thanks for the info!

Can I don't donate periodically but once when I want? Also would be nice to donate to PeerTube.wtf specifically.

No. Stop with remakes, remastereds and reboots.

It’s just me or RetroArch developed the best FLOSS alternative to proprietary UI? You have a nice overlay, CRT shaders, bezels, some netplay function, customizable interface. All of this completely free and super fast.

Wouldn’t be nice to also launch non-emulated games from here?

The cursor randomly enlarges every now and then. Anyone else experiencing the same problem? If so, have you solved it?

Could this be due to using different containers? I use flatpaks for everything apart from a few exceptions where I use distrobox, and in these the Plasma cursor is slightly different, but it doesn't justify the bug but just a different version of the cursor.

Maybe using Syncthing or MPD? I'm searching something to keep/share my votes or even maybe listen counts for desktop and mobile. Also it would be nice to create a backup for these data.

I love the ViMusic/RiMusic UI, it's something different that works also better than standard material designs.

While other flatpak apps have no problems. Any suggestions?

Where do you download? Excluding particular cases, what are the common steps you take to make most games playable? Where do you keep and launch your collection?

I know there are in-depth guides but I wanted a more genuine commentary on your experience.

In this period I was learning about different systems for recycling and reusing plastic from a DIY perspective, when I came to know about this open hardware.

Think about it, Linux is the most future-proof OS, not threatened by companies or commercial interests, and the same can be said for Lemmy in the world of decentralized communication for topics of interest. Without these two things the preservation of video games would be greatly in danger.

crosspostato da: https://slrpnk.net/post/8602499

My stuff:

  • ArchLinux KDE, amdgpu, vulkan, wayland
  • RetroArch installed from official repos
  • cores installed via RetroArch utility

I'm using this command but it results in a graphical glitch when launched from steam:

retroarch -L "path/to/core" "path/to/game"

Possible causes I found:

  • the command may not work if the game is a .cue file
  • loading a game from Steam via RetroArch 64bit can be a problem(?)
  • cores installed with the utility are in ".info" and not in the ".so" extension

spoilerI haven't tried Steam Rom Manager as it doesn't solve my doubt and in any case I'm not sure it can solve the problem even if set correctly.
