The NFL needs another lovable journeyman who we all root for, even though we know he's not elite. Just very good.

Sometimes you see a single line from a tweet (or whatever the heck that stupid site calls it these days) and know you made the right decision by watching random youtube videos all night instead of a game.

Wake me up when the divisional round of the playoffs are here and all the crap teams are finally done for the season.

Bluntly speaking the NFL doesn't care. Ratings are always great and they are selling merchandise hand over fist. The only way they'll consider changing is if they see revenue decrease or lawsuits are filed over games potentially being rigged by officiating for gambling purposes.

The solutions are all right there: hire them as full time employees, give the best ones a salary that beats being the FOX or CBS rules analyst, and utilize every bit of technology that eliminates errors fans see immediately during a replay.

Will they do this? Of course not, unless forced.

I'm not surprised Russ would bounce back this year. I don't think he's quite as electric as he was in Seattle, but that's simply a result of him being older. He's playing sensible football. Maybe not at the expectations of that contract, but it's not like the Broncos will go bankrupt due to it.

Marvin Lewis lasted forever as coach and in fact may have been the Bengals coach when the Founding Fathers set sail for Plymouth Rock.

Taylor is safe.

Well, I hope Purdy is super duper healthy all day while throwing picks to Witherspoon, Woolen and Wagner.

But Aaron Rodgers likes Zach so the entire Jets org is unable to change things.

I always thought Marshawn Lynch in his prime would have also been good at ballet. His nimbleness was always something to behold.

I live in Arizona so now that the oppressive summer heat is finally over, I'm trying to spend weekends outdoors. Watching the NFL is a lower priority in my life, though I do enjoy a lazy Sunday watching Redzone from time to time.

But this year I admit the non marquee games between terrible teams has been far more amusing than expected. Sometimes it's the shitshow games that provide the most entertainment. Jets & Raiders (second half anyhow) was a good example of it. The drama for games like that turns into "How will Zach Wilson fail his team tonight?"

Congrats, Denver, you finally are seeing the Russell Wilson we were used to in Seattle

I'm totally fine if he isn't smart with the ball the rest of the season, especially in a couple games that are rapidly approaching.

They're 2-2 with Bagent, right? That's generally the hope for any backup.
