Wouldn't France be our oldest ally?

Same here. By around 3rd grade I had taught myself how to phonetically read/write hieroglyphs. So I would write all sorts of English stuff in hieroglyphs, but I still couldn't actually understand ancient Egyptian.

Ancient Egypt checking in.

That's how I feel about things that are created specifically to be collectables.

Personally I collect cameras, some of them in order to use, some because they are nice to look at, or have interesting history.

This is a more welcome addition than that stupid AI chatbot slop machine.

But I would still like to see them release Proton Drive for Linux already.

I have had a similar experience with a group of friends from college. They have been slowly getting worse, if not quite as bad as your group. I haven't completely cut them off, but I rarely hang out with them in person, and ignore the group chat most of the time.

I had another group of friends from rock climbing, that slowly moved away to colorado. I still talk to them online and play video games with them occasionally, but I miss the literal IRL hangs.

I'm also fortunate to have other friends from college who I have more politically in common with, we have another group chat where we talk shit about and commiserate about the other group and the general state of the world. We've also been trying to get together IRL more.

I've met a few who don't know humans are animals. But I have met a ton who do not believe that humans are animals. They are generally far less pleasant people to deal with than the first group.

If I had a nickel for every time I had that conversation......

I can see where some confusion might come from with a student who doesn't really pay attention or care. Both cells and atoms are tiny and contain a "nucleus" so If you are working with barely understood half remembered facts it might get confusing.

They probably are worried about litigation, and shareholder profits. It's always about shareholder profits.

Yeah, your company IT department probably blocked it with group policy. I suspect most companies will do so if they care about security.
