Now, another abandoned KDE project, Plasma Bigscreen, is looking to return from the dead after long-time Plasma Mobile contributor Devin decided to spend a week overhauling the thing.

If you have not heard of it, Plasma Bigscreen is a Plasma shell for televisions, with original support for the now-defunct Mycroft AI assistant. It used to provide a simple launcher for apps and custom "Mycroft Skills" before development stalled, causing most distributions to drop it.

My main instance, jlai.lu, will be celebrating its two years the 22 june. We are very happy and we plan to celebrate it with some game together and cooking. 😁

Il a fait 38 °C aujourd’hui en France, en ce 11 juin. Ce n’est plus un simple fait divers : ces températures sont incompatibles avec la nidification des oiseaux.

Lors des vagues de chaleur précoces, comme celles de 2019 ou 2022, des mortalités massives ont été observées chez les espèces cavernicoles (comme les martinets) et chez celles nichant sous les toitures (comme les hirondelles).

Un tel pic thermique peut être dramatique pour les oisillons, encore au nid et incapables de fuir :
➡️ Thermorégulation inefficace : les jeunes ne peuvent pas dissiper la chaleur (pas de transpiration, pas encore de vol).
➡️ Déshydratation rapide : les nichoirs exposés au soleil deviennent des fours.
➡️ Hyperthermie létale : au-delà de 43–44 °C, leur organisme ne résiste plus.
➡️ Moins de nourrissage : les adultes, accablés par la chaleur, réduisent leurs allers-retours ou cherchent de l’eau plutôt que de la nourriture.

Face à cette fournaise, l’oisillon n’a qu’une issue : sauter du nid pour survivre. Mais sans plumes ni force, il s’écrase au sol.

Le changement climatique ne menace pas que l’être humain. Il bouleverse profondément les cycles de reproduction, les équilibres biologiques et la survie même des espèces qui partagent notre territoire. Ce n’est plus une urgence à venir. C’est une urgence réel qui impacte notre quotidien.
