Love to use historical genocidal racism as a basis for a morality system! Its apolitical though, you’re not allowed to have reservations about an admitted racist representing certain peoples as inherently evil and worthy of extermination. That’s not even getting into DnD portrayals of “darkest Africa” and “the mysterious Orient”

Anyway this mod was out like minute one, these fuckin people - I can't tell if its "trolling" to own the libs or if they're really allergic to anyone with a skin tone darker than blindingly snow white. Doesn't really make a difference either way.

Could it also be that typical mindset of “I don’t care about (or even think of) thing unless it affects me personally”? Maybe they simply can’t see why some old cishet white dudes in the 60s would want to represent ethnic/gender/sexual minorities. Empathy on a deeper level, considering the views of others who may have vastly different experiences, and wanting to support them seems damn near impossible for most griller-americans.

Yeah, the most charitable readings of his decisions I’ve seen were that Anno was fully jokerfied by weeb/otaku culture latching on to Eva when it was this deconstructive, depths-of-depressive-period work, and he decided to make what was essentially self parody and turn up the otaku to max.

Seems like cope to me but I honestly don’t know why he decided to dumpster every positive aspect of Eva. Maybe it was for big money and he’s just a hack-fraud. Maybe the stuff surrounding the minor characters in the originals were actually just Anno being a creep the whole time 🤷

That’s absolutely true, I suppose I should’ve been more specific. Despite the animations being inferior to the origin characters & any face captured animations, I still appreciated that the non human species still had a good deal of expression to them since the standard in most games I’ve played is emotionless jaw-flapping.

Tbh I was kinda surprised at how much expression they did manage to give the Dragonborn. It’s not as much as the humanoid faces of course but it’s leagues better than, say, any argonian character in TES.
