Just a few hundred billion more and I'm sure that somebody will figure out a profitable use for AI that isn't scamming old people.

Lewter was charged with sexual torture and sexual abuse with an inanimate object

It appears that there was a physical altercation between both individuals who were known to each other, which ultimately resulted in the death of Mr. Walls

I really hope I stop thinking about how both these quotes can be true before I give myself nightmares.

It means they probably want a COVID shot, but (thanks to RFK's changes to coverage) they either can't afford one or don't believe they can afford it.

I'm not sure if this is the guy I'm thinking of, but at least one roadside vegetable seller does this sort of thing deliberately. After all, a sign with such... unique spelling is much more attention grabbing than a simple list of vegetables.

"Guys, I just realized there are whole minutes of time where people aren't being bombarded with advertisements, we gotta fix that!"

Looking at it on Google maps it looks like a perfectly adequate ~~country club~~ err... prison.

As always small men demand large and grandiose projects to soothe their ego.

Crypto is already largely seen as a scam,

It's more than seen as a scam.

If you're poor, yes. If you're rich, no.

It's kinda funny how sexualized the aliens in Avatar are when they canonically have no genitalia except for their dreadlocks. It kinda defies the sci-fi trope; a sexy alien species that humans can't have sex with (unless you get a avatar body with its accompanying penis perm of course).

X declined to comment, but its AI chatbot, Grok, indicated the clip had been restricted under the Online Safety Act due to violent content.

Oh my god... it doesn't work that way!

The chatbot doesn't know who restricted the video or how it was restricted. The chatbot doesn't know anything, it just calculated that based on its training data "Yes the video was restricted due to the Online Safety Act" was a likely answer and then it spit that out.

Since there is no thread about this on Lemmy, I figured I may as well make one in case someone hadn't heard about it.

Anyway, a new app called Netpass has been released that allows Streetpass over the internet. The app is still kinda rough, a few games like Tomodachi Life have a minor bugs, but for the most part it works almost exactly like if you conventionally streetpassed someone.

So I was browsing SteamDB.info looking at the various games on sale when I noticed there were a bunch of games (usually from the publisher Hede, but there's quite a few others) listed as having a discount in the high nineties, yet still costing in the neighborhood of 30-50 dollars. Even odder when I go to the game's Steam, it's not listed as being on sale and costs the... "normal" price of $99.99.

I'm just wondering A) What the scam is here, B) How a SteamDB.info is getting $99.99 dollar game as costing 30-ish dollars when it's 97% off but at the same time it's apparently not actually on sale?
