But also don't forget that the amount of gamers is larger today than in 2013. Gaming is much more mainstream, and so even 97% of the install base is still disappointing considering steam grew by, what, 3x or something in terms of average monthly users?

Another source I found is that the amount of total gamers grew by roughly 50% from 2013 to 2025. But yeah, I just did a quick skin numbers are not precise

But still, 97% is disappointing considering the general demographic was supposed to grow. And then, in reality, it's just 67% too

Honestly I'm surprised anyone would even want to sleep with a trumper. Like, what's the appeal? It's not like they treat women (or anyone, really) well

I am aware it's difficult, but my point was that you aren't powerless

Earth might end up having a universal dialect over time if the internet keeps getting more prominent

However, space colonies would be pretty cut off from it, due to light speed latency. You couldn't have a real-time voice call with someone in the asteroid belt or mars. You could maaaaybe have one with someone on the moon, but even a second long delay is brutal

So it's still reasonable to assume that, yes, there will be space dialect even though the internet is a thing

Do people not use kitchen weights? It's a very common thing where I live (in Europe)

Hell, I often just use a kitchen weight to measure volume of water instead of using a measuring cup, as 1 liter of water ~= 1 kilogram

People really are gonna just "too hard to use" their way into an ad-filled, censored, unusable, toxic social media experience huh

So instead of fighting now you're just going to allow yourself to get drafted later? How is that in any way preferable

I mean, if they all did it, it absolutely would make shit happen

The whole issue stems from most people wanting to just keep their heads down

They are powerless if everyone stops giving them power

The country is nothing without its workers

Of 10-20% of the population actively protested and actively tried to halt any functioning of society, you'd be surprised at how much you could get done. A that large mass of people is absolutely hell to control and subdue, and they certainly cannot arrest even a significant fraction of them. If the threat of protests of that scale were real every time they tried some fuckery, they would give in very quickly

The problem is that almost everyone thinks like you say, "what am I to do? I'm powerless", and give up before even trying

What a great and insightful comment making fun of people discussing standard safety features to avoid driving over pedestrians
