Know what, that Gabe hasn't fallen of the deep end like notch? Well, mostly by the lack of any controversy with him personally. Sure that's not a perfect measure, but it still puts him above notch.
Gabe seems to be able to handle wealth much better than notch, at least. If he would have been susceptible to falling off the deep end like notch, he would have already done so.
The funny thing about selling valve, what would it even give for Gabe? He's already filthy rich. What more could one want with more money?
Saying no to selling only makes sense in his position, in my opinion. At least I personally would think so. Because then you still keep what is effectively your creation, and can use it to shape the world.
At some point you really do just have enough money.
Honestly, all the issues I have personally found on linux were either fixable, or I knew the cause of. I cannot say the same of windows, even though I used windows for far longer.
It's just that, in comparison, windows is a black box. And if something goes wrong, you may just be shit out of luck.

Thermoses are commonly used, and they even have a vacuum inside!
If you don't care about keeping the internal temperature, there's a lot of options for good reusable water containers. Why should we even use disposable containers if we can avoid it?
Uhm, also, how isn't that sexual harassment and non-consensual porn?

At least Adam Savage is a good dude. He is actively running his YouTube channel, and often answers various questions including personal ones.
And I at least know that he has actively tweeted in support of LGBTQ+ rights. I highly doubt he would sell out for big oil.
