The actual answer is ethnic cleansing in Bosnia and Kosovo, the former of which was the first post-WWII genocide legally recognised by the ICJ

That instagram page belongs to a record label and its most recent post is calling Mr Beast the king of youtube because he has so many subscribers. Only the finest sources I see

Edit: same user recently posted a screenshot of an article by a fucking Infowars writer (and not to make fun of it)

Aww, poor wee guy. Well at least he seems ready for danger

Absolute nonsense for this post to have 61 comments and none of them have mentioned Outer Wilds yet. Echoes of the Eye could be its own separate answer to this as well. Take a listen to this track, it is the essence of adventure in audio form

The Opened Way is the greatest fantasy boss fight music ever composed

The intro piece is another favourite of mine. So fantastically atmospheric, melancholy and hopeful and lonely all at once

I can offer a little advice on the programmed drums: mess with the velocities of each hit. It'll never quite sound like a real drummer, of course, but it can sound way less mechanical than it does by default. The best thing is that you do not neeed to be orecise about it whatsoever, because being a little random about it is actually more like a real drummer would be. Use them to emphasise and de-emphasise specific notes, or ramp fills up or down. It makes a huge difference

For someone that's keen on classical I would suggest going a very different direction for electric. Low gain, humbucker pickups, neck pickup, flatwound strings, plenty of mids in the mix, and only a gentle amount of reverb for that super-rich soft jazzy tone. A guitar with a bigsby tailpiece is great for applying subtle vibrato to whole chords too, which is not easily achieved on a classical

Your description of a "swimming pool of onboard effects" has reminded me of a project I did in university (for an engineering and product design degree). We were each given a laser pointer and a light sensor and told to make a musical instrument with it. After a chat with a music professor we decided to go for a somewhat loose interpretation of "instrument" and shone the laser through a bowl of water. The bowl itself was clear too, so the laser shone right through and we could pick up its position on the other side. We then mapped the x and y axes to pitch and volume so that splashing the water turned into a kind of random whalesong generator

Useful for actually making music? No, not really. It was a lot of fun though

Alaric's whiskers are as pitch-black as the rest of him is, so they do not show up well in photos unless they happen to catch the sunlight or have a light background behind them. He was already an older boy when I adopted him, so I think if he ever did learn anything the hard way he did it long ago. Candles are just about the one thing he doesn't sniff to investigate, fortunately. I think the worst experience he has given himself with his whiskers since I got him was the time that he woke me up because his whiskers tickled my nose. I wound up sneezing directly in the poor guy's face

I have never thought to collect shed whiskers before. What do you do with them?

That is very definitely the pose of a cat about to do something stupid

Outstanding whiskers right there

The prize for winning is the cheese that they're all chasing. She's just that committed to hurling herself down a hill for the pure love of the game, apparently

Careful with your bonfires if you're doing one

Extra mature cheddar, pink lady apple, rocket, and homemade onion chutney on some also homemade bread. Insides of the bread toasted just a little to give it a bit more structure.

This is a direct response to the awful thing posted in !memes yesterday
