I think this is an advantage of the system. On something like reddit, a subreddit has to make use of heavy automation tools or a lot of manpower to create a culture, ultimately any sub on reddit is subject to the overall reddit culture, it can be hard to grow something of your own.

Federation gives power to communities to separate themselves to be more selective. If someone wants something more similar to reddit, those mass-connected instances will always exist. It gives choice to communities in how they want to grow and present themselves.

I think ultimately the flaws are in the tools that are available currently.

I'd love a Dragon Age legendary edition similar to what Bioware did with Mass Effect.
Biggest problem is that they used a different engine for all 3 Dragon Age games so it would need a lot more work. Maybe someday.

Oh man Ape Escape. I remember needing to buy a controller with joysticks specifically for it since the default controllers didn't have them.
It's crazy how gaming has evolved.

A lot of classic PS1 era games would be great to see remastered, the control schemes can be odd on some, and for many the graphics did not age as gracefully as the more stylized games.

I think additional content is fine, even if it's expanding the story. That's not super unusual even going back years ago to Baldurs Gate 2's expansion finishing the story, and is often referred to as a trilogy due to the expansion, or Lord of Destruction.

It sounds like the changes made to the base game will be implemented even if you don't buy this DLC which is good. Base game changes and improvements to AI shouldn't be sold separately.

I'm really enjoying Kbin as well. Ironically the people left on reddit are saying they're enjoying reddit more too with the blackout, as they're seeing smaller subreddits they used to not see, and the large subs filled with spam and reposts are mostly dark.

I think the lesson here is that reddit got too big for quality, which is ultimately what the admins want. Quantity over quality, more users to sell advertising too, and more users to sell their analytics.

It'll be interesting if it stays. I wouldn't be surprised if the reddit admins force mods to reopen the subs, or just outright remove the offending mods.
They have done that before. KotakuInAction was shut down once by it's founder who didn't like the direction of the sub and the admins removed the mod that did it and reopened the sub with a new head mod.

/r/PathofExile announced they're locking themselves indefinitely. The mods have setup a Lemmy instance to replace the sub and are directing users there now.
There are a handful of others going dark indefinitely as well.
