You could try a Wordpress static generator extension like SimplyStatic. Then you’d be able to export your existing site to static files but it might not work properly with some extensions.

The headline makes it sound like they have access to all you call, but the text make it sound like it’s just the WhatsApp calls history and contacts and that’s… obvious?

If they actually have access to message that and it is t end-2-end encrypted at all is on a whole different level.

Vet inte riktigt vad jag ska känna om det här, men det är åtminstone lite komiskt att de seriöst planerar att skaffa ett eget litet kärnkraftverk för att driva sina grafikkort 😁

Oh yeah, and not voting against the party that is outspoken in taking Israel’s side is somehow better for Gaza?

Yeah, my first thought was that it’s a reference to how facism has grown by allowing people to discuss it in anonymous echo chambers.

At least when pouring my shit into Big Tech I can be reasonably sure that it disappears into the ocean of other data they have, and it's exceptionally unlikely that someone with the access to do so would actually look into me specifically.

That any unhinged individual on the internet can pull out more information than strictly necessary about my online history is a completely different threat model. I understand that the federated model requires some level of data sharing to keep track of posts but I would kind of have expected that the instance that "owns" the post would be the only instance that needs this info.

On the other hand, I'm sure that absolute privacy like completely hidden post history to some extent will help bad faith actors with troll farms and bots so I don't fucking know.

Last time I (was forced to) use SUSE it was unfortunately vastly inferior to RedHat. Mainly in terms of reliable stability like how they claim to have the longest supported major versions but change so much in their "Service Packs" that you'll have to be on your toes every 18 months anyway (and release notes for the SP wasn't really created, only for major versions). and Arch doesn't even try to deliver that kind of stability..

Ubuntu is probably a better bet since at least Canonical is based in the UK. Or simply Debian

This may just be a shot in the dark but what is the MAIL_USE_TLS setting in your configuration? I also had issues with mail delivery to start with and it turned out that the problem was that I thought that setting was for SMTPS, but it's actually whether to use STARTTLS. Granted since you're using port 587 either value should work, but Mailgun might block unencrypted submissions.

Also, I think almost all email delivery happens from the celery instance. This was also a mistake I made to start with because I didn't prioritize getting async up and working (turns out that's very important).

Related question: How much bandwidth does piefed.social end up using?

Aking because I'm experimenting with my own Piefed instance and are interested to know the worst-case CDN costs if people would actually start to use it (as if I have any compelling reason to choose my instance, lol).
