Cool! I didn't noticed you could edit files from within it, but yes, that's a cool option as well. Silverbullet.md turned out to be more interesting though, so i have self hosted it too.

Yes! that did it! Great piece of tool!

Are you aware that all android devices with A14 have av1 support as a requirement?

Also Apple is adding that, and amazon sticks already support av1 natively.

Said that, indeed h264 is and will be the safest and most supported choice for a very long time.

As 265 goes, not so sure.

I already do, it's written in the opening post. I am looking for a webgui to edit markdown files on the server

does it have a self-hosted web part? i can't find it. The website only let me download a fuckton 170mb appimage for linux

Nah, moving away from NextCloud, it worked fine, but again overkill only for this

[–] Shimitar@feddit.it 1 points 1 year ago

Yeah, looks interesting but way too overkill i guess?

In my experience the saving over h265 is still consistent and given that hardware h265 is less common that av1 on new devices, from h264 there is no need to go h265 but directly to av1 is better if you need to do the job.

Keep h264 otherwise.

Uso Aruba credo da quasi 20 anni su per giù e non solo non ho avuto mai problemi ma quando ho avuto bisogno del supporto sono sempre stati veloci e efficaci.

Ho con loro domini e server (non vps) a noleggio.

Poi, boh, YMMV!

Untrue, all my devices support av1 at this point, so that's only your mileage.

I am happy with av1 and its awesome space savings over h264.

I think you are correct on most of it, but judging if somebody has or not alternatives is impossible. Of course everybody has alternatives, at least in the western world, but still lots of good and ethical people work for Nestlé.

Go Av1, much better support: all recent amazon fire sticks support it, I am am using one and loving it.

Jellyfin ofc

H264 is great, but h265 is basically feels like a dead end. Av1 instead is picking up lots of steam. I am betting on it instead of h265.
