Playing DDR.

Because then the public won't see my red, flailing body as I stumble around to sit after a single song.

That and mowing my lawn. ...except with my lawn, I've had people pull over and ask if I'm okay. Which is embarrassing every time it happens. I'm out of shape and I have a condition!! But I'm not going to explain that to strangers lol

He's the cause of all this drama.

During a looming economic crisis + ridiculous foreign tariffs + with real estate currently at an all-time high?

Don't think I can take the risk of trying to start my own business right now, as much as I'd like to.

The fabric was patterned and he said that he expected the pattern to match / line up on each one, and they have to match no matter which cushions were switched out. I had to be meticulous and make sure the back cushion pattern started where the seat pattern ended. Had to do the same with the boxing.

I also used a hot-knife to cut, as I had wanted to make sure fabric wouldn't unravel. That was probably overkill, but I wanted to show I could do clean work and was serious. Too bad I felt I was the only one taking it seriously, in the end.

I live in a town on the water, and we don't have a marine canvas / upholstery shop, which baffled the hell out of me. Now I realize that old, out-of-touch shop owners would not want to fairly pay employees, so that's why we still have none.

I looked into starting my own shop.. but with my country's current leader actively plunging us into an economic crisis.. it's a frustrating no-go, as the risk is far too high. Plus, I looked into buildings where it could be feasible, and I could not afford it even in my wildest dreams.

I appreciate your input. I'm too angry and frustrated to do more rn, but I do very much appreciate your kindness. Thank you.

I suppose I shouldn't have expected a boomer to fairly compensate me. However, it being my first time out in the job market for a while, I had expected things things to work on a standard based on at least the current minimum wage.

I don't think those expectations are unreasonable.

What industry?

EDIT: Original comment was something like "My workplace is 80% men, so it wouldn't be feasible to put a woman in a higher position"

Like.... dude..... come on........ come ooooon....

Murder a man and steal massively heavy equipment from a well-known local figure? That's your solution to my problem?

For fuck's sake.

[–] SharkEatingBreakfast@sopuli.xyz 8 points 2 months ago (6 children)

You usually need money to do that.

I have been looking for stable work that doesn't involve self-employment & having to "market" myself & my work.

[–] SharkEatingBreakfast@sopuli.xyz 7 points 2 months ago (8 children)

He owns the equipment.

[–] SharkEatingBreakfast@sopuli.xyz 22 points 2 months ago (2 children)

I've actually made fursuits before.

Unfortunately, there's apparently an oversaturation in the market right now..

I'm looking for some place where the income is stable & I don't have to seek out clients on my own. Done my own stuff for years now. I'm too tired trying to "market" myself & my work.

I've tried to do custom cosplay work before based off of written measurements, but I'm pretty useless without the client being available for tailoring/adjustments.

Most folks aren't goid at giving the actual correct measurements anyhow.

[ This is women-only community. If you do not identify as a woman, please do not comment. Thank you. ]

It absolutely upsets me is that when I bring up women's issues, I often get met with "Men experience that, too!", and that takes away from the attention an issue needs.

This is not me playing to win the "victim olympics", I'm just saying that men really need to listen and realize how exactly women are being treated in these scenarios and why they feel it needs to be brought to attention.

Example: medical discrimination / not having your health being taken seriously as a woman. Do men experience it? Sure! But men absolutely DO NOT experience this in the same way/volume that women do.

Did you know that many clinics will not allow you to get a hysterectomy or your tubed tied without the permission of your spouse? If you are single, they may refuse altogether because "what if your partner wants kids someday?" A HYPOTHETICAL MAN HAS MORE POWER OVER YOUR BODY THAN YOU DO!!!!

Pain being dismissed as "hysterics". Being constantly told that any medical symptoms you are experiencing are a result of """anxiety""". Dismissive of painful menstruation and/or pregnancy, because "woman have been doing this for thousands of years!" Refusing autism diagnosis because "it's not typically a girl thing".. I could go on.

This is not limited to experiences within the medical field. It's.... loooots of things.

Like, fuck.. it's okay to not understand the experience of others. It's like when I hear folks say "Everyone is a little bit OCD! Everyone experiences that sometimes!" like...... no??? Absolutely fucking not, you have no idea what OCD is like, and you're being an insensitive idiot by saying "eVeRyOnEs A lITtLe BiT—" NO THEY'RE FUCKING NOT!

Men face their own issues. Sometimes men's & women's issues overlap. Sometimes there's a little overlap, but women face a much greater degree of fuckery over the issue than men do, and vice versa. That's okay. Just don't invalidate that it may be a larger issue for women than it may be for men.

That's all.

I've been casually collecting since late 2020, and these are just my Peepys!! I have almost all the plush releases from "itemLabel" through the years, and many of their clothing, too!

The shiny ones on top are extremely rare! Emerald being a contest prize, Ruby being a random celebration prize included for a limited time in orders for the brand's YouTube channel hitting 100k, and Sterling being a "good community member" gift usually reserved for brand moderators / ambassadors (in theory).

I love my guys. I even make clothes for them!

itemLabel is a small Canadian brand, and I'd highly suggest them to anyone who likes fun & weird things! (:

I keep hearing differing methods!! I'd like to know how I'm suppose to sit?

To be clear: I am taking my own blood pressure & was urged to do so & keep track on the advice of my doctor.

Which is a myth?:

  • Can't have eaten/drank anything for the last half hour
  • feet flat on the floor
  • lying down but sitting up
  • back against the chair
  • don't cross your legs/ankles
  • only use your left arm
  • hand facing upward
  • hand facing downward
  • keep your arm down
  • keep your arm raised to the level of your chest/heart

What's the correct way????

Anything else I should know? I keep getting inconsistent results, and it's stressing me out.

Thank you.

Was looking for pharmacy hours. Need my meds today.

"AI overview" showed me it was open til 10pm. I squinted and looked at the correct results below: open until 7pm.

Going to gets my meds now before it closes.

Fuck AI.

So sorry for the blurry photo... but would anyone help to identify the make/model of this vehicle based on this photo?

I've been trying, but I'm stumped. Not a car person, unfortunately. ):

EDIT: Thank you everyone!!! You've been an awesome help!!

To start: no, there are no "trusted male figures" in our lives. My brothers & father are all conservative, and I DO NOT trust them to properly explain things without shame and/or religious context.

My son knows the basics of reproduction, but I've never really explained what's "normal" things for a teenage boy to go through.. mainly because I don't know!

I've definitely put it off, so he's almost 14 and is much more physically mature than most of his peers (he's got hair in places, shaves his face regularly, etc.).. but I'm embarrassed to admit that I know next to nothing about anything else..

Could y'all help me out? What did you go through that he should know about? What should I know about?

Many thanks to anyone who can help. Please don't be unkind. Much appreciated.

EDIT: Thank you so much for all the advice so far!! Please keep it up!!

My son & I have very open communication & a very good relationship.

Hopefully we can get more artisans to join up, and folks who would like to purchase from & support independent artists & craftspeople from all around the world!

Could y'all spread the word to other crafty communities, as well?
