This is why fucking idiots who think they can either decouple economically or start a war/blockade with China are absolutely deluded.
Take a computer. Want to make one? Well you’re going to need to set up a facility to assemble them. But if goods stop flowing from China you’re going to need to manufacture the parts; screws, resistors, custom housing, etc. To fabricate the components, you’re going to need to refine the raw materials that go into making said components. The rabbit hole of materials feeding processes and machines with labour to run it is impossible for the west now. It’s game over.
