They

Will

Never

EVER

Voluntarily take accountability for their actions and repair the damage they've caused.

The bosses need to be locked up, and their PERSONAL assets liquidised to pay for the damage they've caused, and to compensate all of the bill-payers who have been paying for proper sewage disposal that never happened. Then their companies need to be dissolved, and until we're able to abolish the state, too, all be nationalised.

Of course Keith (or whichever institutional puppet comes next) is just going to keep giving them slaps on the wrist while patting them on the back and congratulating them on their record profits, but still, it's nice to imagine..

The game is now available on like 4 different platforms, including PC.

As for the FOMO, I agree, it sucks, but if you're good at not falling for it you can ignore it completely. Only a very small number of items are actually limited (ultimate gifts you get from buying a season pass), the rest are just on a cycle which means they can take some time to collect, but are not unobtainable.

Anyway, I'm not here to sell you on anything, if it's not for you, it's not for you.. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

If you haven't already, when you're done, you should give Sky: Children of Light a go, it's the next game that dev team made, and it's great (if occasionally frustrating due to bugs that stem from the CEO being a greedy bastard, but the game itself is still beautiful, the devs are definitely trying their hardest, and they're getting better at at least compensating players when it gets too buggy). They even have a Journey outfit that gives you a special calling voice! (though it is an IAP 😭)

You not believing a thing, doesn't mean it isn't happening, it only means you're either not paying enough attention, or choosing not to look, in all likelihood to preserve your own comfort. So I'll say it again - take your head out your ass, and check your privilege.

It's part of the deliberate conditioning of capitalism/fascism. The more people are made to believe that, the fewer people will think of being mean to those oppressing them, and society at large.

In mine, and other cases here I'm sure, it's called "a collection of chronic illnesses that cause an enormous amount of pain and other symptoms, that flare up every time you move", but that's good to know anyway, thanks!

There are a lot of people who genuinely believe shit like that, even on lemmy.

It’s the internet and we’re leftists and this is like saying copyright law is a good thing and totally misunderstands how ideas grow and propagate. It’s like telling someone they can’t alter a meme.

Jfc, I'm not misunderstanding anything. I'm not telling anyone to do or not do anything, I don't feel like I can't or I shouldn't do anything, I never claimed or even mention copyright, I simply made a choice not to bother altering an existing work somebody else made because I didn't see a good enough reason to, and because it literally makes no fucking difference to the content.

Yes,, fuck Drake, but to derail the entire conversation over an outline of his image appearing on a single slide, and try to "educate" me on copyright as if that's got anything to do with anything going on here seems significantly less productive than just ignoring it and moving on with your life, or, you know, focusing on the actual content.

It's not my work to edit. I also assume it's an older choice that didn't age well, rather than a current one.

I've not read them all, so I can't really rank them, but I do share Are You An Anarchist? The Answer May Surprise You! often, and of course there are the renowned Bullshit Jobs and Debt. I'm sure other folks can add their own suggestions..

A 3 panel comic titled: "Aktion Kat! in: Konspiracies!"

2 anthropomorphised cats sat on the floor next to a lava lamp, passing a joint between them.

The one on the left is sitting barefoot and cross-legged on a pillow, they have long hair, square sunglasses, ripped jeans and white vest with a big medallion around their neck.

The one on the right is Aktion Kat, sat directly on the floor. They're wearing a biker jacket that has an "A", a hammer and sickle, and a smiley face pins on it, and a hat or helmet with a big "A" at the front, and goggles. They also have big boots on, and a small bandage on their tail.

Left panel: Stoner cat, takes a puff, passes and says: "hey kat! [koff!] ya know-it's all a big evil plot. the whole system is really being kontrolled by a shadowy satanik alien kult that pulls all the strings with mind kontrol, motivated solely by their lustful kraving for human suffering...."

Middle panel: Aktion Kat, taking a puff: "isn't it easier to believe that we live in a hierarchikal global ekonomic system based on the akkumulation of wealth, in which a small group of individuals and institutions own and kontrol the majority of resources and exploit the insekurities of the lower classes to amass more kapital, maintain their power, and further their own self interest?" koff!

Right panel: Stoner cat, pointing and smiling: "what??? you really believe that? you're far out kat!"

Aktion Kat, with a black squiggle above their head, facepalming: "what a buzzkill"

*Lies spread and or cultivated by those in power with their vast media empires, grasp on the state and its educational and legal systems, and ability to keep the working class too busy grinding for survival and divided against each other to unite and utilise our collective power, of course. But still.
