Writing with a pen is still more intuitive for me than typing, so I automatically grab a piece of paper and jot it down. Especially while talking to someone.
But I do use note taking apps a lot for more permanent things.
A bottle opener, if you can't open bottles with anything like apparently everyone else.

Hmm my experience with DVD storage is mostly negative. They were all put in cases in closed shelves but after ~10 years there were either unreadable or with errors. I know there are DVD-Rs that are specifically rated for archival but most are not.

I usually listen to any podcast with tech bros talking about tech because it is fun enough but completely inconsequential, so I don’t miss anything when I fall asleep. Examples: Accidental Tech Podcast, Upstream, Cortex, Waveform
