I had this same situation in 2022 with my 16 year old rescue (don’t be intimidated by that age, some dogs can just live longer). He already had cystitis two times. Hip issues, like most shepherds get (he was a mixed breed though), pain in all his legs, had a hard time standing up and walking. And he walked very slowly. Could not wag his tail anymore. He went deaf but we both handled that part pretty well. He didn’t eat much anymore and did not seem to enjoy anything. Writing all this down now I think, Wow that was a lot, but all these issues grew over time and only the worst ones appeared very late and it got exponentially worse. Some days it was clearly time to let him go. Other days it got better and I changed my mind again. That went on for many weeks, months.

My vet was always very supportive. She never said I should do it, because it had to be my decision, but she made sure to comfort me and say that it’s ok if I decide to do it and don’t have to feel guilty. Finally when I was at the vet for a checkup and meds I decided to do it. She agreed and explained the process to me and we went through with it. I was crying through it all but it was ok.

Talk to your vet. They’ve seen so many people go through this. I’d say if you feel like it might be time there is probably a good reason for it. You know your dog well and you know when she’s not the same anymore and it’s not just a phase.

I wish we could ask our pets but we can only make that decision for them.

I got unconscious on marijuana two times. Not much, smoked a few times before without any consequences. Went to the doctor, he tested my heartbeat (I think), which was fine, and said „well just don’t smoke marijuana“. Which I ended up doing because I was scared. But I would have liked to know what the fuck was going on with me because that can’t be normal. The doctor did not care.

Nicht zwingend natürlich, aber ich hätte es gerne als eines damit ich mich nicht jeden Monat erneut drum kümmern muss. Selbstverständlich monatlich kündbar, aber das ist es ja jetzt schon, also eine "Falle" sehe ich darin nicht.

Solange ich mit dem Bus 3-4x so lange zur Arbeit brauche wie mit dem Auto (selbst wenn ich nicht oft hin muss) und der einzige anständige Tierarzt einen Ort weiter ist, verzichte ich sicher nicht aufs Auto. Und da ich nur maximal etwa 1x im Monat mit dem Bus in die Stadt fahre (denn das dauert nur eine halbe Stunde und ich muss nirgends parken), lohnt sich ein 49 Euro Ticket für mich überhaupt nicht. Das 9 Euro Ticket hatte ich damals aber schon. Ich würde auch 19 Euro regelmäßig zahlen als Kompromiss.

Edit: die Downvotes kann ich mir nur damit erklären dass ich vielleicht etwas wirr geschrieben habe. Ich hab niemanden beleidigt und wüsste nicht wen das gesagte irgendwie stören sollte. Was gibt es klarzustellen?

Da müsste bei jedem, der vorher schon ein 49-Euro-Ticket gekauft hat, mindestens 4-5 weitere Personen dazu kommen, die sich das 9-Euro-Ticket kaufen.

Das halte ich nicht für unrealistisch.

So nämlich. 49 Euro hilft nur denjenigen die eh schon regelmäßig gefahren sind. Die Verkehrsbetriebe gewinnen also kaum neue Kunden dazu und verdienen gleichzeitig weniger. Bei 9 Euro würden viel mehr Menschen einfach so abonnieren. Das ist dann nur ein Streaming Dienst mehr den man nicht nutzt.

The topic in this thread was about watching a movie with a small battery. My answer was you don’t need to use the battery when sitting down. Simple as that.

And no, the „best“ experience is not walking around, it’s whatever you do with it. Sitting down, walking around, lying in bed, it doesn’t matter. You would know that if you watched the video.
