There were restrictions in the UK before this latest measure got put in place, ISP providers provide it so parents could manage it. But my guess is a large proportion of parents were either too stupid to use, didn't care, or simply didn't know. Broadband parental control.

In my social circle in the UK everyone got married in their 30's and started having kids mid to late 30's. It's not a race to get married, but the biological clock is there for having kids.
Is r/UkraineWarFootage clips of actual war? If so I can understand the need to "protect the children" from viewing stuff like that. If however it is just a source towards articles of what is going on then this level of censorship is ridiculous.
When I originally saw this report on another source, the key standout for me was how many people were beaten by the AI, and the fact the winner was 5% ahead, which really is a small margin. It was being touted as "Yay we beat the AI!" without acknowledging that there were a lot of people that lost to it.
The writer says not using a car provides a better quality of time spent and cost of living, but this is just their experience and perception.
I didn't drive for 6 months, and it cost me more time and more money. Being able to drive offers me greater freedoms, I now have time in the morning to have a slightly longer lie in, make myself some breakfast, and have a greater certainty that my mode of transport isn't going to get canceled. The levels of frustration and anxiety from using public transport are much greater than being in a car that I ensure is maintained.
The writer states that their friends are always late because they drive cars and are rushing everywhere, but on the other hand the writer needs to account for canceled transportation and so essentially has to have a buffer. The friends being late isn't down to the car, it's down to their time planning skills, they need to put a buffer in.
I disagree that giving up driving will reduce my stress and anxiety, I gave it up for 6 months and it was worse. The stress and anxiety of trying to navigate canceled transport and the "will I be able to get home without it costing me a fortune" is not something I enjoyed what was at least twice a week.
With now over 400k signatures I suspect this will still get a debate, plus on the back of Reform saying they would repeal it, we can only hope labour will backpedal like they do with so many other things when something is considered unpopular.
One can hope...but I've got very very low expectations.
Thank you for this! I don't know how I will manage when my little one arrives but these tips will be invaluable in what I assume will be trial and error.
I was told when you put them down you have to do it butt first and then slowly lower their head down otherwise some kind of reflex kicks in that wakes them up?
I don't have first hand experience, but I will soon 😬

Last book: The Hero of Ages (Mistborn) by Brandon Sanderson
Current book: Wind and Truth (Stormlight Archive) by Brandon Sanderson
I would 1000% recommend these books and other Cosmere books to anyone that enjoys fantasy but with the caveat of being aware of the Sanderlanche. Pretty much every book this guy writes takes time building everything up so it can feel quite slow, but then towards the end you get your avalanche of action, quick story progression, and answers to questions you get throughout the books.
I could only just get through Name of the Wind many years ago. As I was reading it something just felt off and was bothering me massively, I then came to the realisation that the main character (Kvothe) was just too perfect. His flaws were the world around him, not himself, and really the only fault that could be considered was that he was so good at everything he would do too much and get burnt out.
Is the second book better, and would you say it's worth reading given the third one is nowhere in sight?
But you do get rewarded!......with more work.
