He's a hack, doing his job as a hack by saying hack shit. Nothing surprising here.

Imagine blaming immigrants for cutting library hours. Imagine believing that shit. This guy thinks everyone in the city is stupid and he's saying it right to your faces.

There's no career advancement short of spending six years to become a Pharmacist, and that's a fucking awful job even for the money. And now pharmacy chains are folding left and right, so you either go health system (decent, still dead end) or you go mail order (here be dragons)

Just want to have money for needs, not have my time monopolized, and contribute to open source privacy projects. I would be the ideal communard computist. 😮‍💨 Alas, we stay silly.

Being a pharmacy tech is def not a sustainable profession anymore, but I've got no college degree, and I'm too physically decrepit to go into trades, and the only other skills I've got are with computers, and we all know that ship is sinking. What's a prole to do?

Can't tell you how many cold coastal mornings I get up, bundle up, step outside for another day of labor, and whistle Instrument of Surrender.

Can't stop passing the Shivers checks.

Unix or death, but literally.

It's hard being the only materialist in a room. Makes you want to flip desks and throw books.

One for each, single spigot. I've never encountered a single tap for both lines that didn't start to bend apart after a couple years, although I'm winning to believe that's entirely down to cheap manufacturing.

Consider open source software before paying for a proprietary solution.
