Many cars require a speciality tool for their lug nuts. In fact there's a whole series of custom tools for modern cars that get updated every few years to prevent regular mechanics from working on them without buying the tool.

You see it in the tourist threads where people are coming for two weeks and want to do the daintree, Brissy, Sydney, Melbourne and see a few sights around each city and maybe "pop" over to Perth.
