I'm from the late 1900's.

That might work for people with no families. There was a time in my life where I'd have cheerfully defected in exchange for citizenship and protection.

Today, I'd need that for myself and a few others.

I'm not sure I'd call that "unfortunate." I've said for ages that if we can just get more people to vote, it will be good for the democrats. Work the rise of MAGA, I've included that if we can get them to think before they vote, that will be even better.

I'm perfectly happy to ignore everything between Enterprise and SNW, except for Lower Decks. (Is there an official TLA for that?)

Good riddance.

Where do I sign?

[–] SaltSong@startrek.website 1 points 1 month ago

Actually, no. I forgot that my pay is two weeks at a time, so call it 60 hours.

I've occasionally considered purchases add a function of the number of hours worked to earn that money. My fast food costs an hour of work. My nifty you costs two or three hours. Rent costs 30 hours, more or less.

Sometimes it's helpful, mostly depressing.

Tricky to "kick out" an outpost of the most powerful military in the world.

Further, you really don't want an outpost of that same military sitting in your country unpaid, worrying about their family, maybe running short of food, absolutely running short of entertainment, tension rising, and heavily armed.

There may be something to that. A poorly deigned mask might allow co 2 buildup. If I was going to do it, I'd have repurposed one of the old gas chambers.

And yes, I can't imagine the mental state makes things any better.

Execution by nitrogen should be fine. People who survive evidential exposure report having no sensation of choking, just sudden loss of consciousness. Our bodies do not react to low oxygen levels, they react to high carbon dioxide levels.

You would not "struggle to breath" nitrogen. You would just breathe it, then fall out.
