The US has given its entire stockpiles of land war weapons to Ukraine. And is giving its entire stockpile of air war weapons to Israel.

The US hasn't given Ukraine or Israel anything but ageing platforms that were ultimately up for retiring in any significant numbers, and most of the aid money "given" to Ukraine has been spend in the US modernising production facilities and working on replacements for the gear that was sent.

What they have given away was never going to see any use in a conflict outside of WWIII. While it would be nice to think they couldn't do anything about Venezuela, they still have thousands of tanks, artillery pieces, fighter aircraft and bombers.

Cars look largely the same as each other now not because of mechanical limitations, you can move the engine around if you like, and the frame can be pretty much whatever shape you want it to be. The big limitation is safety standards. There are only so many ways you can engineer a metal and plastic box to meet all the various requirements.

I love the game and completely agree. Apparently, there was a complete rework of the main narrative somewhere in development, with the original idea not including the emperor at all, but instead having a character called daisy, who you'd have a number of dialogues with throughout the game in a dream sequence at the bank of a river.

Daisy being the representation of the tadpole, she'd try to convince you to stay down by the river with her, and the final decision of the game would be whether or not to give in.

Not sure how accurate what I've read is, but I like that idea better.

In other words, the status quo in the West is basically as follows: you can say whatever you want, so long as it doesn’t actually have any effect.

The freedom to say anything, so long as you are saying nothing.

The UK government deliberately devalued the pound a couple of times, we had the great depression significantly devalue the pound, and the 70s&80s were sustained periods of high inflation.

But then I look at US inflation

Bretton-Woods and some shenanigans with the UKs war debt devalued it significantly against the dollar multiple times.

I still sort of like it. Maybe there's something wrong with me.

Oh yeah, and I have to pay taxes to the US even if I'm not living there because of citizenship-based taxation.

I'm fairly certain the US has taxation treaties with a number of countries including the UK that prevent you paying tax to the US while living there so long as you don't make more than something like $200k a year.

We are together in our terrible taste in aesthetics.

Is that better than being a regular level of correct?
