While this is true, the actual risk in terms of incidents per escalator journey taken are miniscule. The risk of being seriously injured in an escalator incident is similar to that of being struck by lightning, which is not, for most people, a daily concern.

You can say that having meat is more important to you than animals not suffering but you would still prefer to minimise that suffering where possible.

Is it forbidden to eat "blessed" (or cursed) meat if you are from another religion?

If you are from another religion, then surely to you, their religion is a bunch of cultish nonsense and their blessings and curses have no power or substance so it wouldn't matter?

The US revolution was by no means anti-colonial. It was a bourgeoisie revolution led by land speculators and slave holders who wanted to replace the King's rule with their own, and avoid the rising abolitionist sentiment in Britain.

It's hardly surprising that they would end up how they have done.

Isn't this an estimate of the total number of deaths that will have occured at some point in the future as a result of the conflict? I don't doubt that the real number of dead is vastly higher than what we currently have, but the article doesn't seem to take the stance that so many are dead right now.

If you're posting about it, have you really ignored it?

The aristocracy are all still obscenely wealthy, and the descendants of people who died in the mines and factories and foreign soil to fuel the Empire's demand for war material and men are still caught in debt traps and poverty struggling to survive.

There was a brief window of time where the country went absolutely mad over trains. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Railway_Mania building over half of the total modern rail milage in the UK in under two years. I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of the funny little historic railways surviving today were partially a result of this.

The Great Western Railway museum is really cool and if you're ever in the area you should visit it.

Classical liberals. They're socially progressive capitalists.
