Maroondah council also.

I have bought a worm farm through this before, it is much cheaper.

Also worm farms.

They also have more ability to order and receive stock quickly so don't need to carry as much stock themselves, and don't generally do a big physical stocktake of inventory that was the impetus behind the Boxing Day sales (I haven't even heard them called a stocktake sale in years).

I've been doing an end of year review of my finances (which is a halfway through the financial year review) and unless I manage to pick up an overtime shift on Tuesday I am not quite going to meet my overtime goal. But I am way ahead on my savings/sales goal, managing to put aside close to my years's goal in just 6 months.

Actually, I just realised at some point I put the overtime goal up for some reason, I've just adjusted it back down a little and I am now magically back on track! yay me ๐Ÿฅณ

No fridge or anything unfortunately. Mostly it is put out frozen & you can judge whether it still feels cold. Otherwise it is up to you to judge for yourself wheher you think it is ok based on smell etc. - and it is usually at/past expriy when donated to start with. Happily the chicken was still frozen solid when I got it, sometimes things are a bit more iffy.

All the new plants I put in today will be very grateful - I gave them a good watering, but this sort of soaking is what they really need.

I recommend the Museums Victoria Field Guide app. It has most animals you are likely to encounter, and includes recordings of bird calls.

It might be a dove. Does it sound like this?

Front yard planting has been done. The augur to go on the drill worked well & made digging holes one handed much easier. I was very careful to make sure I was wearing gloves.

A couple of the plants might not have survived the wait, but I planted them anyway in case they are able to regrow from the roots. I've just got a few more plants to go in the shady spots and down the side of the house and that will be everything.

There are definitely people around here that do that sort of thing too. Someone stole one of the cupboards once, and there was someone doing lovely things like hiding fish at the back of the cupboard. There are also people who will just take everything.

The lady who runs the pantry puts a lot of work into putting out just a little bit at a time of the good stuff so there is not a big amount to take at any one time. There is usually plenty of bread, other things are only occasional (or if you go at the right time in the evening when they are getting the supermarket deliveries there is more). I get a fair bit because I walk Mr Woof past it twice a day, but it's often empty (except for bread).
