I've just spent hours researching the work related travel rules and setting up a spreadsheet as a travel logbook. It appears that with a second hand vehicle I can just do whatever I like for the depreciation timeframe. It seems a bit mean to be picking a time after which I think Todd will be worthless.

It showed my score as 4/8. Something went very wrong at question 7. It showed all the answers as being right and that's were the total score messed up too, it showed the total answered as 5 instead of 7 at that point. I went back and found if you answer it right it gives you two points for that question. So my second attempt I got 11/8

Traffic over the westgate was horrible this evening. Three and a half hours to get home. I was very happy to finally get to the toilet after that. The nice bit was that I got to see all the sky pretty today - sunrise over fog, hot air balloons and the lights of Melbourne this morning, sunset with both pretty colours and the light illuminating clouds from below on the way home.

Why is it that my security camera sometimes fails to miss things like a person walking up to the door but today it has notified me of a crow on the driveway?

That would be a nightmare. Not just because of the frequency, but because people who are looking to buy want to be able to poke into everything, plus the added stress that if they buy the place these people will either be taking over as your landlord or evicting you at the end of the lease. I am really hoping I don't get stuck in that situation.

I did most of my washing a couple of days ago, so only had to tackle Molehill Washmore. But the load of towels is outside drying with a touch of sun and a bit of a breeze.

Inspection done. Mr Woof was as upset about the invasion as expected and Miss Meow is still in hiding.

The sun has come out and it's a fairly decent day outside, I'm hoping it's enough to get a load of towels dry.

Edit: Miss Meow has just emerged from underneath the couch.

I have a rental inspection this morning, which means I can't slob around in my pyjamas all day. I should probably find somewhere else for those random things I threw in the bath tub yesterday to give me more room to sort things. Mr Woof is going to be very upset, two visitors in the same week, that's like a full on invasion of our territory!

Sewing machine has been located. Exactly where I thought it should be, in a place I had looked multiple times. It was in a bag and I thought it was something else but didn't open to check.

I checked and it turns out I don't have any. Maybe I could make myself some, if I only I had a sewing machine...

[–] RustyRaven@aussie.zone 3 points 5 days ago

Maybe making himself a guard uniform.

I have somehow managed to lose a sewing machine. I know it is here somewhere, but I'm a bit perplexed about where given I brought it up seperately and put it in the sewing room myself.

"The foundations of our streets

This collection of Melbourne survey maps is a missing piece in the story of Melbourne’s development. They give an account of streetscapes, civic spaces and social development from a pivotal time in our city’s history.Β

The maps are in archive, waiting to be conserved, catalogued and digitised. They are a treasure trove of history with value for researchers, families and students alike."

The change of year is always a good time to reflect on the past and plan for the future. I invite everyone to post here with their New Year reflections and resolutions. Next Year I will make another post and link back to this one so we can read our past thoughts and ideas.

You are free to use any format you like, but I would suggest:
What are the major milestones and changes that occured this year (and further back if you like)?
What good things are happening in your life that you would like to keep going?
What would you like to change or add into your life in the future?
What challenges do you expect to arise over the next year, and how do you plan on dealing with them?

I've converted my front yard to be mostly edible plants, I think they are often underrated in how ornamental they can be.

It looks like Melbourne won't get the worst of this, but we could have some heavy storms over Christmas.

Remember if you are driving to slow down and pull over if necessary, and don't drive through floodwater. Driving through floodwater can be extremely dangerous, and if you try to drive under a bridge and get stuck we will also all point and laugh at you (this applies whether it is due to flooding or excessive height).
