I get kind of annoyed at people who make "jokes" about the age of people like Biden and Feinstein too.

Being drunk doesn't make you a bad person, but it does mean you shouldn't be driving a car. This separation tends to get lost in most jokes but the complaint about mental infirmity (which is different than age but nearly every one seems happy to conflate them depending on their agenda at the moment) is entirely valid.

Also, I do acknowledge the irony of the car brain metaphor here, it was just easy.

The best joke I've seen about this so far "there's literally one dog on earth the cops aren't allowed to shoot and it's rightfully taking full advantage of its position"

it certainly explains the shaking

I do wonder how much of this is because of his legal stuff with Disney making him look foolish and weak. Also kind of putting an end to the "but he's an intelligent fascist who knows how to work in the system to get the awful things he wants" talking points.

In regard to r/antiwork specifically a lot of it is also weird power fantasy stuff. You'll routinely see posts about "I would tell them these are my contract rates at 3-5 times whatever your equivalent hourly was with a 4 hour billable minimum" failing to recongize the power dynamic that previously existed and the idea of reputation in industry or the like.

The example isn't the best but when you browse you can tell that most of these psots come from people unfamiliar with professional environments assuming it works radically different than it does.

I struggle with the "it's ageist" vs "will (likely) not be alive to see the consequences of their choices" dichotomy but tend to think the second part outweighs the first, though I guess in some sort of idyllic world where I thought the things they were doing would be positive or that they might be removed once they became clearly mentally infirm I might lean towards "it's ageist"

I guess if pressed I would say it's fine when talking about Elon & not fine when talking about Grimes or whomever (barring the person in question having weirdly unnecessary public disclosures)

it's gross and dehumanizing regardless of whether or not it is an accurate description

It's not a shield from criticism but it is something that should inform expectations.
