I just switched and there is definitely a noticeable difference in that department. It runs so smooth compared to my lemmy experience.

People thought Hitler was charismatic as well. I think the thing is that these kinds of people are only charismatic to a certain subset of people. Hateful narcissistic morons mostly, and then probably because they see themselves in them.

Definitely. His favourite decisions are when he can both grift and satisfy his pathological narcissism at the same time.

Lots and lots of Americans are perfectly fine with tyranny, as long as they believe it is their tyranny being imposed. Also what does size have to do with anything?

Yeah, as a non-American, having lived with being exposed all my life to the American propagated myth about Americans being the most freedom loving and individualistic people on Earth, it is a bit curious to see how quick and unopposed the implementation of dictatorship in the US is.

If you are a power user like me, Linux is getting closer to a real alternative to Windows

As someone who is on the verge of making the switch to linux, it is a bit daunting that linux is presented as only "getting closer" and not actually being a real alternative to Windows.

You are acting as if you need to reinvent the wheel, completely ignoring the fact that the question of pragmatic gun control is already a thing in most countries in the world. You do know there are countries besides the US, right?

No, there is actually a pretty decent alternative between US "gun control" (or lack of it) and complete disarmament. It is what is being used in most of the world. Actual gun regulations which involves gun licences and having to qualify for them.

And it needs to be on a federal level. Any gun regulation laws on state level in the US are just pointless posturing, since gun proliferation will just continue in less regulated states infecting the more regulated ones.
