Yeah I feel you. I've definitely gotten screwed because I trust people at their word too easily. Also, I think they do have strong convictions it's just that those convictions are self-interested.
No worries, I'm masc but somehow I've managed to get people to approach me pretty regularly which has been nice. All of my partners I met irl so i feel you on the lack of skill lol. I haven't fully reached the point of using dating apps yet but it is certainly approaching.
things definitely changed since covid, especially since folks (like me) don't really go out in the same way anymore. It also seems like a lot of people i'd be into have gone a bit hermit mode based on social media stuff i see. it'd just be nice if dating apps actually could match us up rather than stoking engagement.
