Probably. I'm too autistic to recognize when those prompts happen, so I usually play all my board games in silence.

Did you remove the partitions on your HDD during or after your Kubuntu reinstall? I'm wondering if your /etc/fstab needs changed/updated to the new configuration.

Before you perform another task on that hard drive, try photorec. You might be able to get a majority of your files back if they're important

You need a full 8.1 surround lock system. These can be pricey, but I recommend this one from EcoBee. They typically run around $1300 each, but they come with elastiglass replacement if your window breaks under their protection, which I think is worth it.

I've debated getting rid of windows entirely to remove the risk, but I think I have enough protections in place for now.

Maybe he was confused? Most people just try on sweaters at or near the rack, if they try them on at all.

This once happened to me, thankfully for only a few hours rather than days. I woke up one morning to a fwipping noise in my ear, went to the bathroom to see if I could flush it out with water, and a spider just dangled on a line out of my ear.

It was strange, but not really scary. Jumping spiders are harmless to humans, and this one was only a millimeter or so big.

People really played Monopoly as kids and really went "yeah, that's how the world should be"

I'd love to kick some money his way, but he only has two tiers: $20/mo and $100/mo. I think he could get a lot more donations if he started with a $5/mo tier.

I think he'd also do well to make a "this is why you should use bcachefs of ext4" sort of post to bring awareness to the project and its benefits.

My brother in Christ, this is the exact reason why we are pushing for better public transportation and reduced car dependency.

We dream of a world where, god forbid your car breaks down, you can make it to work within roughly the same amount of time whether you walk, bike, or take the bus. And this isn't even a fantasy, this dream is alive and well in The Netherlands, Japan, even fucking Disneyland.

We just need to actually start taking Public Transit seriously in this country so that it can improve.

Almost certainly it originated from pen and paper shorthand. The internet has a lot of history in regard to it potentially being due to T9 slang, but I remember it being shown to me before cellphones were in wide use.

HA really don't need much hardware to run. I'd recommend installing/moving the HA drive to a ~$200 laptop (built-in battery backup) and then using your existing NUC for everything else. Personally I just use fresh Ubuntu installs for my setup, but ProxMox or OpenMediaVault would make the containers easy.
