Last month, construction workers did something in our street. I didn't have Landline Internet for a whole week. Always Online is pretty horrible for single player games.

The problem is lemmy.ml From what I get, a lot of the old guard (before the Reddit exodus) are tankies. That includes the admins and mods. And Lemmy.ml was or still is the biggest instance because new people automatically choose the server of the Lemmy devs (Because many people don't understand the concept of federation).

It's because the planned IPO. Allowing third party apps, that are better designed, show no ads and don't collect the same amount of telemetry data (seriously the official app spies constantly for user data), doesn't look good in the eyes of potential investors.
