Beehaw hat sich von lemmy.world und sh.itjust.works entföderiert weil Troll accounts widerliche Sachen gespammt haben. Problem is das gute 98% der Nutzer von diesen Instanzen, ganz normale Leute sind. Nutzer dieser Instanzen können nicht mehr mit Beehaw.org interagieren (sehen communities + Nutzer nicht mehr). Und soweit ich es verstanden habe, können Nutzer auf Beehaw zwar noch lemmy.world/sh.itjust.works Nutzer + Communities sehen, aber nicht mehr mit ihnen kommunizieren. Beehaw hat zum Beispiel die größte Gaming Community... Und sehr viele Leute können nicht mehr mit ihr interagieren. Absolutes Gift für die adaption des Fediverse, es sei den man möchte ne klitzekleine FOSS Nische bleiben.

Ganz ehrlich? Jetzt nach dem Drama mit Beehaw... Werde mir ansehen wie sich das hier entwickelt bevor ich meinen Reddit Account lösche... Wenn überhaupt.
You have every right to do with your community what you want. But I will cancel my monthly donation on opencollectiv and tell newer users to stay away from your instance. This action will do so much damage for the acceptance and adaption of the fediverse.. It's just mind boggling.

Ich habe selber einen Tolino Vision 6 und mag ihn sehr aber... Wenn du PDF Dateien damit lesen willst, lass lieber die Finger davon. Tolino hat den mit Abstand schlechtesten/langsamsten PDF support von allen bekannten E-readern. Tolino ist übrigens nur Kobo mit deutscher Software. Wird extra von Rakuten Kobo für den Deutschen Markt hergestellt.
The two main devs seem to be Tankies or have at least close views. From what I heard, the hardcoded filter isn't a thing anymore and was removed after heavy protest from other contributors. The good thing is that they don't have any control outside their own instance and in worst case people would simply copy the project (since it's open source) and move on without them. I hope that the different instances + community take a part of the donations to pay independent full time code contributors.
Tankies are far left Marxists/Communists that are so anti- USA/West that they gladly defend almost anything that opposes the USA. Even authoritarian states like Russia and China. To be clear not every Communist is a Tankie through. And if you critizises on of this countries for horrible stuff, the Tankies will see you automatically as a USA chill. Because, from my online interactions with them, they see the world in black and white.

Da hast du recht, aber wie viele neue Nutzer werden sich bei Beehaw nun anmelden ohne zu wissen, dass ein Großteil der Communitys + Nutzer nicht sichtbar für sie sind? Steht ja nirgends auf der join-lemmy Seite, dass Beehaw einen Großteil aller Nutzer ausschließt und Beehaw ist aufgelistet als einer der populärsten Server. Aber auch lemmy.world ist riesig und etabliert schon eine Menge guter Communitys. So oder so, der Schaden in das Vertrauen vom föderalisiertem System ist schon angerichtet, bei solchen Aktionen.
