They won't even need to stream ads into your brain, because if the whole point is to influence your mind on stuff, well they'll have root access to do so without you realising anyway.

Probably because they process the emote by resolution and not a specific size. Im using the connect app on this instance and I get the same thing.

Fair enough, though My work laptop doesnt allow running any program that isnt authorised, so £3 isn't a big deal if it lets me kick back for even half an hour, let alone entire shifts on slower days.

Bit of advice, get a £3 respberry pi pico, and program it to emulate a slightly wiggling mouse. That will convince most apps on less intrusive work setups that just use ms teams or google chat for idle monitoring that you're still working hard instead of making a sandwich or having a quick pop down to the pub.

In my experience, Brother printers have been the best. Litterally just Plug 'n play. I got a cheaper laser printer from them that only connects via USB, but I had no issue in setting it up with a raspberry pi running CUPS to get network-wide access that all my devices automatically recognise with no need for any manual setup by end users.
