As somebody with debt and no sabings, inflation is ok by me IF my wages go up by the same amount, it actually benefits me by decreasing the amount of debt I owe.

Sramek said he was a relative newcomer to the US, with only a decade in the country. “I could not have done anything to your people,” he said.

You’re doing it right now you fucking moron, one of said people is in front of you asking about the graves you’re planning to desecrate!

“Don’t commit acts of war against us because we will defend ourselves”, spoken to the most belligerent and warlike country in the world (USA) is not a “veiled threat and dribble (sic)”, it’s called a defensive posture and standing up to a bully.

But America is the most authoritarian country in the world with the most prisoners, police murders, most warlike and belligerent, etc. I guess you made a typo and meant to say that fascists and liberals lean heavily into authoritarianism which makes them quite similar.

Kissinger was the one on the U.S. side who engineered the opening of diplomatic and trade relations with China, back when he served in the Nixon administration. As much as this move aided the US in winning the Cold War against the USSR by taking advantage of the Sino-Soviet split, it also allowed China to flourish first because the U.S. was no longer openly backing the KMTs claims over China (China got to take their seat in the UN and Taiwan was out) and later by allowing massive amounts of American capital to flow into China, boosting the speed of their development of productive forces. Many in China likely see Kissinger (and Nixon) positively because in a way they helped China into the position it is now in (superpower status).

Also, "who had a sharp vision and a thorough understanding of world affairs" is true, despite the fact that he is an evil ghoul, he was a very competent one with a solid understanding of the way the world works. We can be thankful that not many people like that seem to be at the reigns of power on the US side anymore.

Paraguay’s cabinet chief for the ministry of Agriculture has been fired after signing a memorandum of understanding with the United States of Kailasa, a country that doesn’t exist.

Looking into it a bit, seems to be the pet project of some Hindu billionaire trying to start his own country. The administration of Newark, NJ also signed some memorandum of understanding with them.

Seems like Kailasa sends representatives to meet with any diplomat or government they can trying to get recognition, they showed up to some open sessions of the UN just pretending to be a delegation from a real country lol. Allegedly the guy trying to make this country happen bought an island off of Ecuador to be the location of Kailasa.

There’s audio of the Agriculture minister of Paraguay getting chewed out for embarrassing the government of the new president by doing this.

You’re saying there’s a NEW England? Why, the old one was bad enough!

Matter in what way? I feel like getting the achievements and stuff is useful just as a gentle motivator to open the app and do at least a couple lessons every day.

Overall though, it's not the greatest way to learn a language. Its better than doing nothing, but not as good as studying seriously via other means.

Lol dude the book came out like 150 years ago and is widely referenced in culture all the time, I'm more surprised that this person started to read Moby Dick without having some idea of how it ends already.

They're talking about wilderness, not ranges. In California for example you can just head out into the desert and set up your own targets and shoot on federal land.

I had taken one a couple weekends ago because I was feverish in a way that was familiar to me from the last time I had COVID, and it came back negative so I was OK probably just the flu. Well, my whole family caught it and it was COVID after all.
