Yeah tazers are scary because of the sound. In practice its not that bad, I've been shocked worse by electronics. Unless you're using a police taser. Those hurt way more... I've heard from a friend

I have to say I agree here, hell I've never updated one of my open bank accounts. It still has me under my mother's old house from when I turned 18, and I've moved at least 10 times since then. I've also helped/worked with/am friends with plenty of unhoused or at risk folks and never heard of being 'debanked. Now if OP wants to talk about getting accounts or your ID in the first place while being unhoused then that's a different story. Plenty of times I've seen it be next to impossible to get these things w/o an address. Not so much maintaining it w/o an address.

Although im sure anything is possible, so I wont discount it completely.

The term has gained traction after being discussed on a November 2024 The Joe Rogan Experience podcast with investor Marc Andreessen, in particular with respect to cryptocurrency assets.

Yeah im not buying it, but the next line says instances of Muslim people having accounts closed have been covered by media. Although that's shaky at best. What media? Who specifically? Im not convinced that this even happens often enough for people to clutch their pearls

Edits: that claim to "Muslim money" is cited and links to an ebook about Canadian Islamophobia, but its using this book as a source to say Muslim accounts get closed in the USA and its covered by "media"

Seconding thrift stores. That's really where I've got my hands on most of my clothes. It's cheap, cheap enough that if you don't like it it's no big deal just return or donate it. And quite often you find really cool stuff. If you live in an area that is poverty stricken it might be tough at those shops, I go to a more well off part of town and thrift there. You'd be amazed at what well off women will donate. Good luck on your journey!

For me it's because I've been drinking carbonated drinks for so long that flat water is awful to drink. I know it's good for me, I know I need to stop the carb drinks. I know I'll live a longer life if I do this. But it's somewhat like an addiction for me, it's really hard to quit and move to water.

The tap water in my area tastes pretty gross. I've tried the flavored water and never really found one that was good and didn't have weird taste or drinking effects. I would do carb water but it's so expensive, more expensive than my carb drinks now. So it's hard to even find a replacement.

OP, how old is the phone / what version of android is it running?

Just tested this on my s24u, connected to wifi with no physical SIM and my eSIM turned off I can still turn on mobile Hotspot. Seems weird that you can't especially since iirc Samsung let's you share your wifi connection through Hotspot as well.

Edit: goto settings>connections>mobile Hotspot and tehtering>mobile hotspot> click on the network name field. You'll be taken to a screen to change the name but at the bottom there's an advanced button. Click that and near or at the bottom will be "wifi sharing" turn that on and you can share your wifi connection through hotspot.

Personally I have an acquaintance that talks about how terrible trans people are all day. As far as I can tell he has no real personal reason to hate, but he subscribes to the republican agenda. The Republicans demonized Trans people so now he does too.

I really think it's that simple for these empty heads. They hear people on TV and such talk about the "terrible Trans people" who will "invade restrooms and grape your daughter" so that's their belief now.

It happens on both sides too. Far too many people just whole ass believe and subscribe to these talking points purely because it advances their parties agenda. Of course the parties have to sugarcoat it or straight up lie about these groups to push the belief. The evidence is right in front of us.

For example, this exact post. Talking about Trans hate like its everywhere all the time in our face. It's just not like that. Sure a lot of people hold these beliefs, fewer wholeheartedly believe all of it, even fewer will try to do something like write politicians about it, and even fewer will go to the streets and propagate their hate. But the old saying is true "if it bleeds it leads". Stories about hate and death are front page and shoved into our faces because it sells. Were all more aware of these problems because talking heads never shut up about it. The rise on social media and internet has made this problem exponentially worse.

Used to be if there was a shooting on the other side of the country I wouldn't hear about it. But now there can be a shooting in Australia, a LGBT hate parade in Europe, and civilian deaths in gaza, the news cycle will make sure I know about all of it.

Not saying it's a bad thing to know about stuff in other parts of the world, but we need to be careful lest we forget that the entire world isn't like this. It's overrepresented in media but it doesn't have to be our lives.

Also closeted Trans or something idk, I live with this same fear and these are the things I try to remind myself whenever it's just too much. Hope this helps.
