I agree with everything you said about jetbrains. Their vs code like push and AI push has degraded their quality.

It won't... Again, I can distinguish between company time and private time.
Employment is an exchange of time from employee for resources from employer.
Microsoft is not saying you can't support Palestine. You can.
That being said, Palestinian employees interrupted public and private Microsoft events. That caused monetary damage to Microsoft. Microsoft is saying that is no longer welcome during the company time using company resources. That is 100% within their right.
I won't. I can distinguish between my private time vs the company time.

I just installed Slackware after reading your message to see what is new, here are my findings:

There is still no auto install. I had to manually configure a lot of things using a terminal based fdisk and setup.

The default package manager, pkgtool, does not have a default way to auto install packages from web (something like yum, apt, up2date). It only installs from your own HDD.

The other tool for managing packages, slackpkg, was not installed on my system by default.

The default configuration for X and KDE has problems on my system. I can see the mouse move then nothing.
I can understand why somebody would like to play around with this kind of system as a fun/entertainment/puzzle solving in their free time. On the other hand, if you plan to run some kind of microservices architecture on this, then I wish you best of luck finding a new job once you are fired.

I don't know how AI is going to change the employment. But it is going to shake things up a lot.
A 2024 study from MIT showed that AI was able to perform around 6% of all of the jobs in the world better than humans.
Another study by OpenAI found that their O3 model could perform 8% of all freelancing jobs without human supervision.
AI coming. It's coming for some jobs. I think translation is one of those jobs.
That being said, it was exceptionally stupid of the CEO to say that and sink all of his public image. At the end of the day, if AI can do what their contractors can do, nobody would need duo lingo.
