Every time I brush my teeth I have to remember to do it (this is not automatic, all my toothbrush stuff is set up as a visual cue any time I'm near the sink), focus on my task as I go to the bathroom so I don't forget why I went there, remember to take my medicine first so that I don't have to swallow them after brushing my teeth, floss, and brush.
HOW ARE YOU IN MY BRAIN
Right, but as soon as you have a device that conveniently reduces a risk to a positive/negative signal, you introduced liability.
This tech won't just die, it will be intentionally killed.

Are these traits of aspergers, too? Asking for ... reasons.
Starbucks? We don't have time for handjobs.
To be fair, that's a poor example, as the research on ME/CFS is dogshit. It never gets the attention it deserves and its victims suffer in deafening silence, because it's not some sexy field to research and there's no immediate, highly visible threat to the almighty economy.
We're seeing this mirrored with long COVID. At least 16 million Americans are suffering from it — nearly 1 in 20 — and, even with rates that enormously high, research is moving at a glacial pace. There's no operation warp speed, no coordinated global effort, nobody in world leadership gives a fuck.
There's always some stupid image for some stupid anniversary like Mary F. Dinklehorn becoming the first trans-gay-librarian in Antarctica or something
You owe me a new shirt for the coffee stains I just spat all over mine
My daily reddit use has dropped by an order of magnitude. Now I just subscribe to a few subreddit RSS feeds that I skim through once a day, and that's pretty much it. If I really feel compelled to post something, I'll begrudgingly grab my laptop and head to old.reddit ... we'll see how long that lasts.
That's less "hot take" and more "correctly assessed."
Well golly gee, they're breaking promises they never intended to keep?
