The rare case where youtube comments are mostly good (and taking the dipshits in the video to task).

The Deprogram (podcast) were using Trump and Biden AI-generated voices to talk to each other and do some bits and hock their merch. I thought it was pretty funny. I wonder if they were using the same service. I guess there are alternatives like Plinky suggested, but yeah pretty lame and hypocritical of the liberal freeze peach worship pretense.

Edit: The very beginning of episode 109 - All Presidents Are War Criminals #2 or #3. You'll never guess who makes a guest appearance and shows his hog.

I found the comic itself at the Boston Globe and already posted a link to it in this thread. I did search hexbear a fair amount and found the Biden one mentioned quite a bit, but not the other one. Obviously it's possible I just missed it or it got deleted when someone wiped their account or something. Doesn't matter, it's linked below and it is indeed disappointing garbage.

That is pretty gross. Looks like he saves his shittiest takes for publishing under his real name.

ok, I think I may have found the offending cartoon. It is under Ward Sutton and I had to archive a Boston Globe (ugh) article, but this is a pretty obvious shit take: https://archive.is/g3c2I

I wouldn't call it pro-Israel, but it is just a rehash of the insipidly ignorant "it's complicated" cliche, which now does carry water for the genocidaires. Personally, I think it's a forgivable take only given it was said right after Oct 7th when genuine ignorance on the issue was still possible. It's not possible anymore with the obvious evidence of genocide wide out in the open. I wonder if he still feels like it would be difficult to fit an appropriate slogan on the sign now.

I'm not implying it didn't happen, but I can't find any reference to Stan Kelly with respect to Palestine or Israel either on the broader web, or here on hexbear except for this comment by @Egon@hexbear.net a few days ago. There are some sparse google/duckduckgo results for Ward Sutton but they're behind a paywall. What did he say/draw? Has there been discourse about it?

It's not like a huge surprise to me that Kelly turned out to be a lib, but did he do something particularly bad/cringe recently?

I actually completely agree with you that the Hilary comparison is unfair and that Trump as a viable candidate (who really is probably going to win) is relevant and worth being concerned about. Discussing Trump and what he says now is completely different than whinging about Hilary was this far into Trump's presidency, you are right.

But if you want to talk about "advocacy for WWIII," then Biden has done far more to get us closer to that brink than Trump ever did. It's ridiculous to be worried about Trump saying something asinine in his usual predictable, petty way while Biden is right now trying to get another round of billions of dollars through to nazis and continuing to escalate an unwinnable war that he and his administration have been escalating all along. Also while he's directly backing an ongoing genocide and giving even more money, weapons, and general support to the direct perpetrators. Right now. If you're worried about a third World War, you should be just as, if not more worried about Biden than you are about Trump.

it seems pretty silly to go after him for providing historical context to the region.

It is silly, but it's also entirely predictable. Since they (reddit libs) have no concept of the historical context, when it is provided, all their shitty surface-level vibes-based reasoning for supporting NATO and Ukrainian fascists starts crumbling. So of course they're going to get upset at being informed of history. It triggers their cognitive dissonance and makes them look like the fools they are.

Not OP, but I think the first part of the sentence you quoted is what they're talking about. SpaceX, a private company that is now the cutting edge of space tech in the US, is what you get as a result of general efforts to privatize everything. These efforts ramped up dramatically in the 70's, from my understanding.

Even though I see the pin icon next to the title at the top of this page, I don't see this thread stickied on the front page or on c/movies. To find it, I had to search hexbear for "Sunday" and sort by new. This isn't the only time, it's common for the movie threads. And I've seen people in hextube mention that they couldn't find the thread for movie nights too, so I know I'm not the only one. What is up with that?

I do see the nomination thread for September still stickied on c/movies. susie-confused
