That sounds exactly like what happens when multiple players accept a mission at the same time, but only one (or a few) get the mission.

It's not normal to have it happen with every single mission that you accept. I wasn't having issues like this the other night.

Wakapedia posted in chat(and updated the MotD) to let us know about some mission fixes in the game.

We've deployed a service-side hotfix onto the LIVE environment that should make "Ship Under Attack" (Resource Drive), Gilly's Flight School, and Foxwell missions constantly available. Let me know if they start popping back up again!

Chachi reviews some new information that we have learned from Quantum Vegas.
Highlights from the video:

  • Sean Tracy has mentioned that they are planning to start testing VR within 1-2 months.
  • VR is already natively supported in Star Engine, but some things have been broken with the changes they have made to the engine.
  • CIG licensing out Star Engine is unlikely because of the maintenance needed to support other teams/companies/developers.

Still going through it now, but I thought it was great when Jared actually coughed as written in the question here:

Some ships are currently pretty much silent (cough, Origin..) and some ships that used to have distinctive engine sounds are now also pretty much silent. Are these ships waiting for a pass, or is it a bug ?

  • Hiddleston

Happened to me as well, I think they must have gotten a bit more aggressive at blocking certain VPN connections.

If you're on a VPN, try changing the server and see if it starts working.

Some good questions in there. Be sure to upvote the ones you have, or post them if you don't see it.

4.2.1 is set to release later today (see MotD).

With 4.2.1 we'll see the new resource drive event.

  • There are permanent rewards that will be tied to your account for anyone completing these.
  • You can complete them for all 4 factions.
  • Journal has been updated to show a progress bar (both overall among all players and personal bars per faction).
  • event commodities will not be purchasable for the duration of this event.
  • commodities/progress can be earned through:
    • FPS missions (recover cargo)
    • Distress missions (protect hauler ships)
    • Hauling missions
    • Recover cargo (Fly to a "dead" ship and either transport cargo to your ship, or "borrow" the cargo ship and transport it directly).

Rewards for the overall winning mega corporation:

  • Stanton-Pyro jumppoint will be owned by this corporation
  • City Landing zone, station, and jump point will get a 5% discount across all goods.
  • Elite (black matte) version of the faction's Tier 2 armor reward.

The armor will arrive with 4.2.1

Broken on Voyager as well.

Displays a High level warning about the domain from crowdsourced context:

Activity related to AGENTTESLA - according to source Cluster25 - 1 year ago

This DOMAIN is used by AGENTTESLA. AgentTesla is spyware designed in .Net to steal personal data, capture screenshots, and record clipboard and form values. It's marketed on its own website, falsely claimed to be a legitimate keylogger. Popular in the hacker community for its ease of use and tech support, it likely originated in Turkey.

Video for solo miners. RisboTheBlade covers a few different topics here and how to tackle big rocks.

How to calculate the amount of SCU you get from a rock:

  • He gives a roundabout method, but just take the direct percentage and multiply the SCU amount by that (from his example it would be 247.37*0.3203).

How to stabilize your ship to avoid wobbling:

  • Angle ship downward at 45⁰ angle to get your main thrusters farther away from the ground.

Other tips and tricks:

  • Why Instability is bad (you want it in the green)
  • Use gadgets on secondary breaks to lower instability so that you don't lose out on ore.
  • Turn on lifeline module when the green bar is ~2/3 full
  • Use modules completely so that they fall off
  • Reduce refinery times by placing half of your pods in the cargo elevator.
  • Sell quantanium to players looking to complete Wikelo missions to easily double what you can earn (UEX Corp has a useful player marketplace).

What about EndeavorOS?

Quick 2 min video about EAC changes and how you can still play in VR, but only in offline game modes. The other 2.5 minutes is a clip of Chachi racing in VR.

Yeah, it would be awesome if they created NPC rescue missions. I'd also like to see missions where you go into a burning building/ship to put out the fire and rescue NPCs (Once we get fire).

The main fixes they call out are:

  • LCH- 1619 - Corrected a typo in offline messages
  • Access the Channel folder from the game settings menu.
  • Improve Game error message with Crash Digest number

And then a long list of some error handling.

LUG has also announced that any of the recommended runners will work with this version of the launcher: https://github.com/starcitizen-lug/knowledge-base/wiki/Tips-and-Tricks#recommended-runners

For those on Linux, (for the EAC issue) we no longer need to manually enter the Z drive path to your game files in the launcher.

There's a petition going around now to try to "Save Subnautica".

It's at least worth a shot: https://www.change.org/p/save-subnautica

A quick timeline here:

Krafton forced the removal of 3 top executives of Unknown Worlds and replaced them with one of their own. https://unknownworlds.com/en/news/subnautica-community-letter

One of the executives speaks out implying that their removal had something to do with a disagreement in when the game would be released: https://xcancel.com/Flayra/status/1941316326833914148

Unknown Worlds announced that the early access release of Subnautica 2 was being delayed until 2026.
https://unknownworlds.com/en/news/subnautica-2-coming-2026

Bloomberg released an article this morning about a $250M bonus that Krafton would have paid out to the Unknown Worlds development team if their sales had met a certain threshold sometime this year.
https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2025-07-09/krafton-delays-subnautica-2-game-ahead-of-250-million-payout

A change.org petition has been started in lieu of the recent news: https://www.change.org/p/save-subnautica/

Definitely worth checking out to see if others are experiencing this. If I have time later today, I'll see if I can recreate it.

[–] QuadratureSurfer@lemmy.world 2 points 3 weeks ago

They do. They were talking about it in-game when I hopped on.

Hopefully this only needs to be forced during Free Flys, since there's a cost associated with getting your account banned at other times. But with how bad the cheating appeared to get recently they might just leave it on.

Edit: Yes, EAC being forced seems to be new as of a few hours ago.

There's also been some talk among the devs about the situation that CarbonPixel has compiled here:
